Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2017/11/14) */
We have reviewed this claim and we do not feel this was caused by our driver. We ask that the person receiving the vehicle to inspect it to make sure there is no damage. Unfortunately, we can not be responsible for unclaimed damage. We do not...

feel our driver could hide a broken mirror or obstruct your view. Our inspection sheet states that any damage is to be recorded and none was stated.
I am sorry you feel tricked or scammed. That is not how we conduct business. We deliver thousands of vehicles each year and we do stand behind any damage caused by our drivers.

Foremost Transport contracted to deliver a 2013 Subaru Legacy from [redacted] Inc out of Chicago. The vehicle was picked...

up in Arlington WA and delivered a residential address in Greendale WI.
The Vehicle Inspection Report indicated multiple scratches and nicks at the time of pickup, with one scratch on the edge of the roof of the vehicle above the door. This Inspection report was signed at the pickup location and again at delivery, with no additional damage indicated at delivery. From the location of the scratch on the roof that was noted at pickup and delivery, it would have been very difficult to miss the additional scratches that are alleged to have existed on the roof at the time of delivery.
Our double deck transport trailers are used to deliver RV tent campers which are secured with tires straps, not chains. The tire straps are always removed and placed into a locked tool box when not in use. These same straps would have been used to secure the tires of the vehicle onto our trailer. Because of the height of our top deck, vehicles are only placed on the bottom deck. With that in mind, we would have not had a vehicle loaded above the Subaru and we have nothing on the trailer that hangs below the deck. While the suggestion from this complainant that chains hanging down likely caused the damage sounds reasonable, our trailers do not carry chains.
Our insurance company did send an adjuster to see the vehicle. After verifying the damage to the roof, they agreed with our position and denied the claim.
In summary, the scratches in question are very obvious and they would have been noticed when inspecting the roof damage that was noted on the Vehicle Inspection Report. Our trailers do not carry chains and have nothing that hangs from the top deck. The top deck actually protects the vehicle as it doesn't allow anything to come in contact with the vehicle below. Our adjuster visited the residence and after viewing the vehicle, declined the claim.
It is unfortunate that there is now damage to the vehicle and we regret that this couldn't be handled between us. We take pride in our ability to deliver vehicles on time, without damage. Foremost Transport does not believe the damage existed when possession was given to the new owner.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/07/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The response from Foremost Transport Inc. is absolutely ridiculous. It's very interesting that since the car was delivered back on 4/25, over two months later and several communications with this Transporter, they now take the position that their Trailers do not even use chains, but only use Tire Straps. That is certainly convenient from their point of view. If this was in fact the truth that they only use Tire Straps, why would they now first bring this up. They are correct in saying that the scratches are very obvious, but, as I said in my previously communications, those damages were not noticed until the next day when I was washing the roof of the car. That is when I first notice the scratches. I had no reason to look at the roof because I was concentrating on the B/L which reflected no damage to the top of the roof. In addition to that fact, the car was very dirty because of the many miles it traveled.Of course the Adjuster denied the Claim as he was paid by the Insurance Company to look at my car. During his inspection of my car, he even made comments that the damage was very noticeable and has he has seen similar damage to cars during transport. I had called the Adjuster for a copy of the report but he would not send me a copy because he was being paid by the Insurance Company. These scratches did not happen from the time it came off the Trailer until I washed it. IMPOSSIBLE. This is a case of the Transporter not taking care of their customer. They damaged the roof they should pay for it. How do they even explain how the scratches got there? The response from Foremost is totally unacceptable.

We can not explain how the damages happened to the roof. I don't know why he is just now hearing that we don't use chains. Tire straps are the way cars are secured.
Our driver said the car was looked over very carefully and the buyer was happy with our delivery. The paperwork was signed and no damage was noticed. What happened after the car was accepted is unclear.
I see in another online post he claims to have washed the car on Monday, 4/27. Why the discrepancy? So, he is not telling the same story. [redacted]
OFFER:
We stand behind our service and our drivers. Although we do not believe the car was damaged in transit, we will offer to split the cost and give $350.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2015/07/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do believe that my original complaint to the Revdex.com reflected that I washed the car on Sunday, 4/26, and that I contacted the Broker on the next business day which was on Monday, 4/27. The offer to pay ONLY $350 is an insult considering the cost to repair the roof is $711.53. In order to make this go away so that we can both move onto other things, in the spirit of cooperation I will agree to accept $500.

We apologize for the damage and cleaning required after our driver delivered the unit. We accept full responsibility and intend to pay the amount requested by [redacted] in full.
