Inresponse to complaint of *** *** relating to my work I state the following
In mid to late summer Mr*** Hired me to replace a very old furnace at his office building in Youngstown OhioHis furnace also had an old central air conditioning system located above the existing furnace which he did not want to replaceI agreed to replace the furnace only, by removing the old furnace, leaving in tact the plenum and attached central air coil, ( which is customary in our business)I then installed a new goodman 80% furnace under the existing plenum and central air coilWithin a few weeks Mr*** called me to tell me that there was water coming from the furnace and running unto the floorI told him on the phone that there should be no water from an 80% furnace but I went to his office and found water on the floorOut of courtesy, I inspected and investigated where the water was coming from and again told him there is no way that is from my work as the 80% furnace does not make condensationI discovered that the condensation pan located under the existing central air coil located approxinches above where the new furnace was installed was overflowing and the drain line was plugged, as is common in older systems that have not been maintained properly over periods of timeI explained all this to him, but once again as a courtesy a cleaned the line out so the water would drain, I made no charge for this even though I again insisted that it had nothing to do with the furnace installation and advised him he should consider replacing the old system
_ Flash forward to August Mr*** called me to tell me there was water on his floor again, I again told him that there is no way that could be from my furnace, but did stop to look at the problemI found the central air system to be" frozen” a industry term and standard that the old central air system needs a charge of freon or refrigerantI toid Mr*** that I would not charge the system for him as it was too old and I simply will not work on these old systems and he would need to find anotherHe became agitated but did accept thisA few days later Mr*** called me and told me he had another company out who said that the water coming from the old central air system, ( which I believe is from it freezing up), had run down across the furnace and shorted out the main control board of the furnace and he wanted it covered under warrantyI told him I would see what I could do, but I don’t think goodman will warranty because it wasn’t a failure in the furnace but rather the water from the central air that caused the shorted boardI checked with my supplier who agreed with meThere was no way that I was going to replace the board out of my pocket as it was not my faultWhen I advised Mr*** of this he became highly agitated, hung up on me after saying he would file this complaintHad he not hung up I was going to offer to install the board if he purchased the part, which I thought was a great customer service offer, but I should not be responsible for the cost of a part which his failure to adequately maintain his central air system caused failure to my furnaceUnfortuently, I was unable to make this offer as he filed this and has not spoken to me since

Review: They improperly installed a new furnace and have failed to correct the problem. That failure has caused damage to the property in the amount of $3500.00Desired Settlement: I want the $3500 it cost me to fix the problem they caused.
