I've read some negative review for TAG auto on *** and elsewhereI think those bad reviewers may have been to a different business completelyI've been here multiple times with great experiencesThe owner is great and honestI've been quoted double or triple from other auto repair shopsAnd other customers of this business who I have spoken with have nothing but great things to say about *** and TAG auto

Quoted price over phone and didnt honor it and caused issues w my car that didnt previously have.Quoted price over phone on 2 seperate occasions and at time if billing denied ever quoted price. Also Car was to have new timing belt, water pump, belts, hoses and spark plugs replaced and nc inspection. When we picked it up ( latered than told), there were 2 code lights on that were not on and shouldnt ve had any reason to be on because of their work. When I co fronted them, they said it had nothing to do with them. They said what they did didnt cause it, but oh it did. My bill was almost $500 more than what we were told. They deny telling us any price over the phone. They are a bunch of liars. Now I am smelling something burning anc they also got grease I my car.Desired SettlementI want a refund on the difference they quoted and I want my codes checked and fixed. I also want an apology.Consumer Response [redacted] called me on March 28 about me bringing my car back so they could see if the could fix it. I dropped it off Monday, the 31st and left it with the owner , [redacted]. They kept it for 2 days and called me on April 21st late afternoon to say they fixed it and it was ready. I picked it up on the wind and both dash lights were out. I guess, issue resolved.

We took our vehicle in for a car issue to have diagnosed and was called the next day with repairs completed without our consent to repair the issue. On July 25, 2016, my husband [redacted], took our 2002 Ford Explorer into T.A.G., Inc. XXXXX [redacted], [redacted] NC XXXXX to have them diagnose the problem based on the car issues that were described to the technician, named [redacted] filled out a form as requested by the technician as to what was going on with the vehicle and he explained on the form, "possible power steering pump issues." [redacted] before leaving the shop, requested the technician to call him back with the diagnosed problem and how much the repairs would cost. On July 26, 2016,[redacted] received a called from the owner stating that the repairs had been completed and that over $811.34 was due for the repairs. This was the first call [redacted] had received after dropping off the vehicle on July 25, 2016. On July 26, 2016 at 5pm I walked into the T.A.G. shop and two gentlemen were sitting at the front desk, [redacted] and [redacted]). I explained to the gentlemen what had happened and needed some clarity as to who gave permission for the repairs for the vehicle. [redacted] was extremely rude and stated, "he didn't have time for this." I explained to him that I was there to request a copy of the work order form and also a copy of estimated charges. He exclaimed to me that he didn't have any of that information to give me. I explained to him that I had to have something that showed who authorized the repairs and also what had been done. I then got a copy of the work order that showed what [redacted] had written about "possible power steering pump issues." [redacted] and I came back the next morning on July 27, 2016 to speak to the owner, [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] asked us how we wanted to handle this and we stated that we didn't feel we were responsible for the charges based on the fact we didn't give permission for the repairs especially when we didn't know what was wrong with the vehicle and also how much it was going to cost us. Mr. [redacted] stated at that time that he would look into it and call us back.[redacted] and I walked out with the understanding that Mr. [redacted] was going to call us with an explanation and a print out of charges and as we were walking to our car, Mr. [redacted] had stated he had videos that confirmed approval and when we asked if we could view them he denied us and stated "we could just sue him." I requested on several occasions a print out of estimated charges and it was not given to me until July 28, 2016 at 5pm when I had to drive back over to the shop after Mr. [redacted] stated he would call me as soon as the estimated charges print out was ready for me to pick it up and we never got that call from him. So on this day, I drove back up there and obtained the print out finally and stated to Mr. [redacted] that I would review all the information we had and that he would hear from us on Friday, July 29, 2016. Mr. [redacted] stated to me at this time that he reviewed the tapes and we were right that they had not obtained permission for the repairs and he stated he was willing to remove $57.44 for a part on the bill. I explained to him that I didn't feel responsible for any of the charges on the bill because of not giving any permission to repair the vehicle. They were only suppose to diagnose the problem and respond to us with an estimate of cost of repairs. He stated that was all he was willing to do. At 1pm that Friday, I drove up there to the shop to try to attempt to discuss with Mr. [redacted] that the charges for parts and labor were inaccurate and to see if any solution could have been made and it was He and [redacted] in the customer service area of the shop and he stated he wasn't willing to remove anything and that the full amount was due in order to get the vehicle back. He acted very hostile screaming and yelling at me questioning what the problem was, implying that I couldn't afford the repairs asked me to sign the paper attached to the receipt that read that we approved repairs and I declined. He snatched the paper from me and cursed at me to get out of the shop.Desired SettlementWe are seeking a complete refund of charges of parts and labor charged to us. We requested old parts that were taken out of our vehicle and Mr. [redacted] stated he no longer had them. We were never able to see what needed to be repaired. We are seeking a letter of apology for the way Mr. [redacted] spoke to me in such a volatile derogatory manner on Friday July 29, 2016.
