Review: The Tag-B Group is a valet parking sub contractor for numerous restaurants in the Washington, DC area. On May 23rd I attended a private function at the [redacted], an employee of the Tag-B group valet parked my car. The next morning I noticed a scrape on the right rear bumper of my car, and the bumper was very - very slightly separated on the right side. I contacted the restaurant immediately and was referred to **. [redacted], President of the Tag-B Group. I explained that I was leaving the country the next day but that I would like them to arrange to repair the damage to my car. He said he would "investigate" the matter and get back to me. When I returned two weeks later I had not heard from **. [redacted]. After numerous phone conversations with him, he finally told me that his company would not assume liability for the repair, because they could not be certain they caused the damage, and that I should have reported it when I received my car from the Valet. I discovered the damage the next morning. Under his logic, if I had reported the damage he would have most likely said "how do we know the damage wasn't there when you gave us the car?" I think it is also safe to assume that most, if not nearly all people who valet their car do not inspect their cars before driving away. I saw the damage approximately 12 hours later, the next morning and contacted the [redacted] right away. I also provided photos of the damage to **. [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like the Tag-B group to assume financial responsibility for the repair of the damage to my car.

I am rejecting this response because: The response from Tag-B parking is not clear. They have offered to split the cost of the deductible, is this claim they are proposing on their insurance policy, or my insurance. If they are claiming the repair on their insurance then their only cost will be the deductible which will be minimal. If they are proposing that I claim the repair on my policy then I risk a rate increase for the claim which is unreasonable since I believe they are responsible for the damage. In addition to money out of my pocket to cover their proposed half of the deductible, I could also end up paying a higher premium for my insurance coverage. Does their insurance claim cover a rental car for the time of repair?
