I am rejecting this response because: *** *** statements in his response are and he has not provided any solutions to make this situation right In response to *** *** last post; *** *** says he walked off the job because I said I was not going to make final payment This is false As I mentioned in my previous post, I paid *** *** $5,in advance for the job, plus the $2,for underlayment, for a total of $7, I started to become very suspicious of *** *** when he kept asking me for additional money before completing the first part of the job, and after he stated that he would not be able to complete the rest of the work until mid-August So I offered him the opportunity to meet with me to crunch the numbers to see how much work was completed to that point I also asked him how much additional money he was expecting In a text message he sent me the day before he walked off the job he wrote "3k will be good I have over $in supplies and laborI've made about last month and have spent countless hoursJust asking for a bone" Well since I already paid *** *** nearly $8,and he admits to only spending $5,to that point in supplies and labor, I was not going to "throw him a bone" and pay him another $3,000? Clearly my suspicions were correct and this is the real reason he walked off the job In response to *** *** claim that "His request for receipts for the material I purchased, and delivered, is ridiculousI need those for my books since I purchased them." Anyone reading this can be the judge If *** *** thinks you are ridiculous to ask for copies of receipts for materials you paid for, then ask yourself if this is the kind of person you want to hire? I would have been happy with a copy or a photo of the receipt, not the original Ultimately I paid $2,in advance for the underlayment and in his own invoice he states that he only paid $ According to these numbers I am owed $2,for the underlayment that was not purchased and used Finally, in reference to his claim that I stated that I only paid the last crew 50% because I was unhappy with their work, that claim is and is nothing more than a smoke screen to justify his actions *** *** is the first contractor that I've hired that wanted more money then what was actually earned While we've provided *** *** with plenty of opportunities to make this situation right, we see now that our only option is to go through the legal system to get our money back for the underlayment and for the work he left incomplete We have plenty pictures along with other evidence and witnesses to support our claims, and we thank the Revdex.com for making this forum available to share our experiences with other people

was going to finish everything the day I was told I wasn't getting paidWhy would I finish if I'm not getting paid? *** *** started questioning square footage of the job that same day, two weeks after he approved the 8TH bidIn our initial conversation he stated "I only paid the last crew 50% because I was unhappy with their work"This seems to be a regular occurrence with *** ***He requested me to provide the sheets of underlayment and bags of self leveler, so I added that into the bidHis request for receipts for the material I purchased, and delivered, is ridiculousI need those for my books since I purchased themWe never really talked about transitions, everytime it came up, he was so vague on what he wanted, I didn't purchase anything he didn't pay for
