Review: I brought both of my dogs to Taj Mapaw on Friday February 12, 2016 for doggie day care and for a simple hair trim. I was " greeted" by a young man who had absolutely no idea how to work with dogs and a "know it all" or so she thought, groomer. I proceeded to tell both of them that I would need hair trims for my 10 pound miniature poodle and my 25 pound cockatoo. They had both been groomed at another salon 5 weeks prior and needed a bath, trim with scissors, and nail clipping. The groomer said that if she used the clippers on both of them that they would be "naked" and assured me that she would not use the clippers on either of them. I was very Very VERY specific with her when it came to their hair. I asked her to keep the poodle the same length all over with just some trimming around her face, feet, and bottom. I asked her to keep the cockapoo the same length around his face with rounded feet. The groomer acted like she know what I was talking about. I left both of my dogs with her and went to work. I then called Taj Mapaw on my way to work and told the young man that if they had ANY problems or questions to call me IMMEDIATELY!!! I never heard from them and called on my lunch break to see how my dogs were and to tell them that I would be there around 5:30 to pick them both up. The man on the phone said that they were both great and that was fine. Upon arrival at Taj Mapaw at 5:30pm, the owner told me that my poodle was bleeding out of a large gash on her belly and he had absolutely no idea where it came from!!! He also proceeded to tell me that my cockapoo was bleeding every time that he urinated and had been all afternoon. I asked him why he didn't call me like I asked them to and he would not answer. He then brought both of my dogs out to me. It was obvious that they had both been completely shaved with clippers despite my scissor request. The gash on my poodle was an obvious clipper cut and my cockapoo was bleeding from his male genitalia which had been cut with clippers, explaining why he was bleeding everytime he urinated. I asked the owner why the groomer would have such a blatant disregard for my clear instructions and why they didn't call me? He said that he did not know. This business has been open and taking advantage of sweet pet owners for far too long. Instead of saying that I didn't owe anything because of all of the BLOOD, the owner happily charged me 105 dollars for the "great care they provided". I'm eight months pregnant and did not want to argue or else I would not have paid him a dime. Taj Mapaw needs to give me a full refund of 105 dollars in addition to paying for the topical analgesics needed to care for the clipper wounds incurred. I am incredibly dissatisfied with this business and would appreciate a prompt response.Desired Settlement: Taj Mapaw needs to write a check for the $105 dollars that they charged me for negligent doggie daycare and grooming.

To whom it may concern:This is in response to the complaint [redacted]I have read the complaint and find nothing to be true and factual. When she came in to pick them up from the Taj Mapaw I greeted her and she made no mention about her bad experience this morning with the two people who waited on her and it is my experience that most customers that are happy with their previous grooming will return to our establishment for future grooming. She made a statement that they had previously been groomed at another salon and once encountering a young man who had absolutely no idea of how to work with dogs and a know it all or so she thought, groomer, why would you leave your pet? If you are having this kind of trouble and if it were to be true then I don't believe she would have left them in our care. Secondly I brought it to her attention that the males urine was tainted red like a urinary tract infection which she would not have detected when walking her pet, but she agreed and stated that he had previous occurrences with urinary tract infections and this did not alarm her but she did express her dissatisfaction with the price 2 daycare which was $10.00 each and one grooming was $40.00 and the other grooming was $45.00 bringing her total to $105.00. These prices can be compared to other salons and you will find them to be lower or equivalent to most but she wanted to know why they were so high. I explained why and she could only say that they had been groomed not more than 5 weeks ago and could not understand why we charged so much. I can show proof of her billings in the past and they were the same as they were when she had come to the Taj Mapaw in the past. Thank you,Chris A. Benson

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.The owner blatantly lied and was untruthful in the entire response to my complaint. This is a terrible business and should be closed down due to negligence. The moment that my poodle was cut open with clippers that were not supposed to be used on her in the first place, per MY INSTRUCTIONS, I should have been notified so that I could take her to the vet. The MOMENT, that the owner noticed blood in my cockapoo's urine, (which was found to be from a cut from the grooming clippers that WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE USED ON MY DOGS IN THE FIRST PLACE) I should have been notified so that he could also be taken to the vet. Instead, not only was I not notified, I was told that they were fine and could be picked up anytime before 7pm. I am a licensed veterinary technician and absolutely would have been able to detect a urinary tract infection from my six year old cockapoo. I know that I am not the only person in [redacted] who has had a pet come back from Taj Mapaw with unexplainable wounds or injuries. I move that the Revdex.com should revoke Taj Mapaw's business license and be shut down. This is a terrible business and needs to be prosecuted and treated the way that it treats it's animals, which as you can see, is inhumane. I do not accept the offer made by the so called business and am still demanding a refund of $105.00 made payable to me to make up for the medical costs that were accrued due to complete negligence and stupidity of the Taj Mapaw "staff". If this complaint is not resolved in five business days, further action will be pursued by my lawyer in an attempt to make everyone in [redacted] and the surrounding areas know how this "business" operates. She has made too many remarks about me and my business, while addressing her complaint, that need to be addressed.
