Claim # 11231490I feel as though I should be compensated some money since I paid them 700.00 and they did not fix my car and then I had to pay out another 172.63 plus had to cancel Dr.'s appointments because they did a rush job on it and did not diagnose it properly.I disagree with the resolution. As per the name of the business, I know the sign out front said Sewell's Auto Care.  My receipt also says the same thing. The older male that did the work had on a shirt that said Gary and the younger male said his name was Mark or Marc. I resent the fact that this attorney is basically calling me a liar when I reported the truth and trying to get this resolved. Was this attorney there at the time? NO, but I was.  I did call Sewell's Auto Service after my roommate mentioned this business after I had called Kendall's Service of Seymour, Inc. I took my car over to them and told them that I had taken my car to [redacted] and they raised my car up and showed me that the front tires were loose. I was advised by the male there to get it fixed right away. I explained what the car was doing. I was told that they would have my car fixed by Wednesday, which I said good because I have Dr.'s appointments to go to and now I do not have to cancell them. I called them late Wednesday afternoon and asked about my car and I was told by the younger one that they were going to finish my car before they closed because I asked what time they closed. My roommate and I went over there about 6:30pm to see about my car. The back door was open and we walked inside and Gary was working on my car. My roommate and Gary did some talking and I listened. I think I said a few things as well but not much. We had been there about 10 minutes when Gary's wife and Mark pulled up in a white van and they had Long John Silver's food. My roommate and I left so that they could eat and finish my car. We went back about 7:30 pm and he was still working on my car. My roommate and I walked upfront with Mark to go ahead and pay for their work. They stood up there and talked for about 30 minutes as I sat there and listened. My car finally got done a little after 8:00pm. I drove my car home and had not had my car for 12 hours when I had to take it back Thursday morning after being out on the interstate to go to my Dr.'s appointments. I explained to them that it was doing the same thing it was doing when I brought it in the first time and now it has a loud popping sound when I apply the brake that was not there before they worked on it.  I was told they would look at it and call me. They called later that morning and telling me that I needed additional work to the rear of my car, that my front right tire was warped and it was going to cost about 400.00 to 500.00 to fix it. My roommate did say he would pay for it. I called them back about 10 to 15 minutes later and told him that I was NOT happy that I had to bring my car back in for the same thing it was doing before and now it had a sound that was not there before. I told him that I expected my car to be fixed for this amount of money that has been paid out to them. I also said my car BETTER be fixed this time.  That was the only thing that was said to him. I was told my car would be ready Friday. Friday evening my roommate and I went over there since we had not received a call from them to tell me to come and pick it up. They were closed up. The door said they were closed on the weekends. My car was sitting out front so we left. I got up early Saturday so I could call the garage and was hoping to get an answer. Gary did answer and told me to come and pick that thing up because he was NOT working on it again and was saying I threatened him or threatened to sue him which I had not and he hung up on me. My roommate and I went over there to get my car since he answered the phone and it was still locked up and he was not answering the phone. I knocked on the business door and he came to it and told me that my key was under the front mat. We left and came home. My roommate asked me if I wanted to take it out to [redacted] to see about that tire he said was warped. They raised my car again and rotated and balanced my car and changed the oil. I was told there was NOTHING wrong with my tires that my tires looked good. We came home and I called Kendall's Service of Seymour, Inc to see when they could get my car in and I was told to bring it in on March 21. I told them what it was doing. They called me and told me that I needed my rotaries turned and I told them to go ahead and put new ones on. I asked them to check the rear end of my car as in the sway bar, the brakes and hubs. I was told they were all good and nothing wrong with them. I also asked them to check and see if the new parts were put on as Sewell's had said. I was told that they did put the new parts on. I did question the parts due to I was not there the whole time they worked on my car and neither was the attorney and because my car was still doing what it was doing when I took it in and had a loud noise when I applied the brake now. I did call the Seymour Police Department  for I felt like they were trying to kill me since my car was not fixed and a new sound was happening and the Officer there told me to pick my car up and take it elsewhere to hve them look at it and NOT to take it back to Sewell's. He even said make sure they put the new parts on as well. They are stlaking me through Facebook because I have my post made public.  And stated what went on and how I was treated and done by them. POINT MADE THERE. Yes, Sewell is a CROOK because he was charging me money for a problem my car was doing that he did NOT fix and even had a new sound happen after I got my car back. To correct the attorney, I have had my car for over 10 years and it has been serviced many times. Kendall's had done work to my car and it has been fixed and I have had no complaints with him and [redacted] had serviced my car as well. I bought new tires with them a few years back.  All of this can be verified. Yes, Sewell is a CROOK for he charged me money to repair my car which he did NOT fix and even said it was going to cost another 400.00 to 500.00 to fix it when there was nothing wrong with the rear of the car. And nothing wrong with my tires. And my front right tire was NOT warped. I was told that he saved me money Wednesday night when we picked my car up. He said it would have cost me about 1200.00 if I had had the work done seperately on the front end. You can pretty much add that up, 700.00 the first go around and another 400.00 and then a tire to becuase he said it was warped. And to clear something else up, my roommate is not a mechanic nor does he work on cars and what he said should NOT have been the diagnosis of my car. That is what Sewell was being paid for since they were the mechanics working on it. My roommate suggested the brakes because the popping sound it was making when I applied the brakes and he rode in my car and heard it himself. He was also present during all the conversation they had and what was said that evening. So YES, my roommate IS a WITNESS to all of this.

This letter shall serve as a response to the aforementioned complaint on behalf of my client, Sewell Alignment, Inc.As a matter of housekeeping, the information contained in your database for my client is inaccurate. The Owner of the Business is Marcus [redacted]. Your site lists a John Bohall as...

Principal. Thisperson is not familiar to my client and has never been involved with the business. Marcus was preceded in ownership by his father, Gary [redacted] The company is known as Sewell Auto Care. The SewellAlignment name has been retired.A [redacted] filed a complaint regarding some work my client did on her vehicle recently. I have attached a copy of said complaint to this correspondence. The information she provided is erroneous in a number of respects. I will provide the correct sequence of events below.[redacted] made contact with my client on Monday, March 7, 2016. She informed him that her carwas at the local [redacted] auto care department. The technicians there had inspected her vehicle and informed her that there was excessive play in the front end of her vehicle which required repairs that theydid not do. My client informed her that they did that type of service and requested she bring the vehicle to his shop for inspection, which she did.Upon inspection of [redacted]'s vehicle, it was discovered that the ball joints, inner and outer tie rods and sway bar links on the front end were bad and needed replacement. My client instructed [redacted] that the vehicle was not safe to operate in its present condition. [redacted] informed my client that there had been no maintenance or repair work done on the vehicle during the five years that she had owned it.My client quoted $700 to perform the needed repairs, which [redacted] agreed to. She informedmy client that she needed the vehicle by Thursday morning, March 1Oth. She was informed that theywere quite busy, but that they would attempt to accommodate her request. My client ultimately worked 3 hours past closing on March 9th, to ensure that [redacted] had the vehicle at the requested time.During the last two hours of the repair work, [redacted] and a gentleman she described as herroommate were present and observed all of the parts going on to the left side of her vehicle. This isinteresting in the light of her comments in her complaint questioning whether new parts were even installed. At the completion of the work, [redacted] signed the repair ticket and paid. At that time, she was advised that the new parts installed included grease fittings and should be lubricated at each oil change. She was also informed that due to the bad parts and her car being out of alignment, that her front tires had worn improperly and would need to be replaced before the vehicle would drive as smoothly as it should. [redacted] enquired as to why she was being asked to sign the repair ticket and it was explained that this was simply to acknowledge that the repairs had been completed and that she had picked up the vehicle. [redacted]'s roommate paid for the repairs.Prior to returning the vehicle to Ms Kriete, my client test drove the vehicle on their usual testroute and it operated suitably, considering the improperly worn tires. The vehicle was certainly safe to operate, but the tires did cause some minor vibration while driving.[redacted] returned the next day and indicated that she had noticed some vibration while driving, but that it was much reduced since the front end work had been completed. My client reminded her of the tire issue. The gentleman who [redacted] had previously introduced as her roommate indicated that it sounded like rear brake noise to him and that he would pay for any additional repairs that were needed. [redacted] then left the vehicle with my client for further diagnosis and repair. My client diagnosed the rear end issues with the vehicle and it was determined that the noise was being caused by a bad rear sway bar link and worn brake shoes, drums and wheel cylinders. The noise was substantially less loud than the front end noise prior to those repairs which probably accounts for it not being noticed previously. When my client contacted [redacted] to inform her of the needed repairs she immediately became hostile and informed my client that the $700 should have covered anything needed and that she expected the car to be "perfect from bumper to bumper". She threatened my client with a lawsuit and made numerous inflammatory statements. At that time, she was informed that they did not wish to perform the additional repairs and that her vehicle was available for pickup. This occurred on Thursday, March 1Oth. [redacted] did not show up to retrieve her vehicle until the following day, March 11th around 8:00 pm. Although it was substantially past business hours, [redacted] beat on the door of the business until my client answered. He lives next door to the business. She enquired as to whether they had made the brake repairs. She was told that they had not, because her threats of lawsuit and allegations of my client trying to kill her caused them to no longer wish to perform service work for her.[redacted] subsequently filed the attached complaint with your office as well as contacting the local police and making slanderous comments about my client and his business to numerous third parties. My client is justifiably proud of his reputation and has been serving customers at his location for over twenty years.Hopefully, this correspondence will serve as adequate response to [redacted]'s complaint. If you have additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Brett [redacted] LAW OFFICEBMH/bm
