Talese Motors Reviews (1)

Review: I had my car towed to Talese Motors June 7th 2013. It went in for a repair of the left tail light, and my car was stalling as well. The morning of going to the shop I stalled out and could not shift out of park. So it was then towed to the shop. The shiffter they could not fix. It was detached and sent out to a different mechanic who could fix it. Which shipping the part out and having it worked on took about a month to get back and put back on my car. When Talese reattached the shiffter, from sitting it did not start so he jumped causing the passenger module & command computer board for the radio to be fried. [redacted] Talese states clearly that it happened from the car sitting, not from jumping my car. The past weeks I've called left messages never got a call back, his father would always say that he was not there. He totally avoided my calls and messages. Now once again my car is not starting as that my father had called today 8/13/2013. This is a poor ran business and I am NOT at fault for the radio or passenger window not working. I want my car back and fixed at Talese expense!!!!!Desired Settlement: I want the radio and window fixed which was sent to Mercedes Benz and the estimatated amount was $5,000.00. Also, the 3 INCONVENIENCED months I have not had my car, making car payment and paying car insurance to sit in Talese Motors. So about $7,000.00 is my desired settlement for the car repairs, the payment of insurance $70.00/month and monthly car payment of $400.00/month and the rest just for the inconvenience.

Dear [redacted],

My name is [redacted] Talese. I am responding to a letter I received dated 08/14/2013 with the id of [redacted]. I am hopeing I can resolve this issue and respond to [redacted]'s complaints. I am a very qualified auto technician, and I am very familiar with Mercedes. Even the local Mercedes Benz of Fort Washington brings there wholesale Mercedes to our shop for repairs and service. You can contact them at ###-###-#### and ask for [redacted] for verification.

The beginning of [redacted]s claim is true except for the fact that I was dealing with her boyfriend [redacted]. He Knows I have all the correct tools and background to fix her car. He came to me the week before and asked me to open her trunk because the tail light was out. She had her car at another shop prior to this and [redacted] called me and asked me to talk to the other mechanic to tell him how to open the trunk. They could not do it because you need a special Mercedes diagnostic tool to open it due to the fact that her trunk has been broken for over a year. I know they tried but could not due it. So the battery was not accessible to jump start. She stated to me her car sat several times at the shop and other places and the battery died. Her dad told me they jump started it by removing the back seat. This is not correct at all, that supplies full voltage to the rear SAM module, which is one of the main computers. She claimed I fried her door module and radio which is false. I don't know if they worked when the car was towed in. But she said it did. So I believe her and look into the problem. I find out that sometimes when the Mercedes sits for a long period of time with a dead battery a module basically goes into sleep mode and will need to be reactivated. But sometimes The module just won't come back online, its stuck in sleep mode. I even took it to Mercedes to see if they could reprogram the radio and door module. And they tried and basically said the same thing, that the modules would not come back online. And the reason the car sat for three weeks originally at my shop was that her dad wanted to take the shifter module to a friend who can repair them. I agreed because I wanted to save her money. New ones are about 500 to 700 hundred dollars. I also needed to get a new tail and a Mass air flow sensor to fix the original problems her boyfriend made the appointment to have fixed. He agreed we should get new parts for this issues because it they are both very common problems with her make and model of Mercedes. If we got used parts she could have the same problem in a couple weeks or months. I called for the parts while he was there and was going to go pick them up that day, but they had to order the tail light. He new exactly how much it was and he always handled the repairs wit our shop before. I talked to [redacted] a few times and she was apologizing for how long the shifter was taking that her dad physically picked up from me to take to his friend. I told her I already have the other parts for her car so I was just waiting for the part her dad was responsible for. When I did get it I installed it, replaced the Mass Air flow sensor to fix the stalling problem and put on the new tail light. I called her to tell her it was done and she was happy. She asked if I heard fro her boyfriend because he was supposed to contact me for payment. He never did, so I called again and told her how much it was and she was upset because her boyfriend was supposed to help her and I guess they broke up or something because neither of us had spoken to him lately. She said she cant afford it because she has all these medical bills and some other issues. I told her I would work with her and she could just make payments. And at that time she was fine with it. Then a few days later she called and said she looked online and found the used parts a lot cheaper. I tried to reason with her for a while, then just said fine get the used parts and I'll see if I could send them back but I don't think I can because I didn't have the boxes anymore. She called the next day and apologized and said she was just upset because she thought her boyfriend was going to pay an now he wont call her. Then she said it was fine and she had 100 dollars, could she pick up the car. I said I can't release it with only a 100 dollar payment, could she put down five hundred and the she can pay what she can every week. Then I didn't hear from her for a week or so. She then called mad again and said she wants her car and I should pay for the radio and the door module. I explained the situation again that it wasn't my fault, I explained to her again that it some times happens when these cars sit for a period of time with a dead battery. She said it has sat recently at different places for extended periods of time and nothing happened. I said I am sorry but I honestly cant see how any of the work I did could have caused it. The technician at Mercedes agreed with me. Then she said she was going to look online and see how much used ones are. I told I don't think you can get used modules for this car and just install them. It would need to be reprogramed and may not work at all because both parts are connected to the security system, but I'll research all I can and see what we can do. A few days went buy, then I was off for a week, when I got back to work I got the message that she called. Then her dad called minutes later, I talked to him and he said that the when he called while I was out they told him the battery was dead again, that's when he said they jump start it underneath the back seat, so I told him I would check it out. I pulled the back seat and the only place to hook up the positive end of a jumper cable is directly at the computer called the rear sam module. Who ever told him that was very very wrong and bad for any electrical system. So I hooked up my computer and entered the body control system selected the pneumatic lock system and activated the trunk unlock function. Then I charged the battery and started the car. That is the proper way to jumpstart this type of car. I called to tell him what I did. I got no answer. Then a few days later I got this letter. I am very sorry this happened. I am sorry her boyfriend left her in this situation. I followed proper Mercedes procedures to the repairs agreed upon. And I am sorry she has had so many problems with this car according to her father. At this point I think she should come to the shop and pay her bill and pick up her car. I am pretty sure if I offer her the same payment plan she won't pay. I already gave her a discount to help her when she first told me her boyfriend left her in this situation. I honestly just would like to get this resolved. The fact that she wants seven thousand dollars from us leaves me in complete disbelief. I tried to work with her so many times and have been honest with her from the beginning. I've never been in a situation like this before. I explained my side of this situation truthfully.

Thank You,

Dear [redacted].

I am responding to [redacted] letter in reference to id #[redacted]. I don't know what I am supposed to do about this, personal attacks and the damage she now a ledges are outright lies. The car is cleaner than when she brought it in. The center console was messy inside because I had to take all the junk out of it in order for me to access the bolts to remove the shifter; then I put all the stuff back in. I would never rummage through someone's property. There are no slices in her seat. The only noticeable thing I saw is normal wear marks on the driver's seat, you can tell it is old wear and tear and nothing I could have done. I feel like I am in the middle of some kind of witch hunt. I have pictures of her car if you would like to see them. All I did is fix the problems she first brought the car in for, her boyfriend set it up and they both new what was being done as well as her father. And I did exactly those things. She has a dead battery that she doesn't want to fix. And, the longer it sits at the shop the more problems are going to arise from constantly have to jump start it and reset all the modules, And raising her suspension that lowers down after it sits for a while with the dead battery. And the tires keep going flat from sitting And the trunk needs a latch and lock assembly that she won't fix, and has been like this for well over a year. Because the battery is in the trunk it makes it hard to access. I just want her to pick up the car. My dad said he has to have her pick up the car soon. He said he will waive the labor charges on the car. If she could just pay for the parts that we replaced she can take the car.

Thank You
