Our customer [redacted] was moved on 22 September 2017. During the move, the back board (cardboard) of a small bookcase was damaged. could not get the measurements. On 26 September 2017 we asked Mr. ** to provide us the measurement. His response was “[redacted] has it, he took a picture.” The picture does not show measurements. I called Mr. ** and left him a voice mail message asking him to call me with the dimension. He never returned the call. On 29 September 2017 a claim form was mailed to Mr. ** which he states he never received. On 16 October 2017, [redacted] called Mr. **. He denied receiving the claim form or any phone messages.The pick up address was a 2nd floor apartment with stairs, no elevator and a long carry from the unit to the truck which required extra time to move.The delivery was also a 2nd floor apartment with stairs, no elevator and a long carry from the truck to the unit adding additional time to the move.Two very experienced movers were on this job. They are fast and cautious to ensure no damages occur. All items were wrapped and protected before they went on the truck.It took 2 hours to load the truck and 1 ¾ hours to unload. The drive time between locations was 30 minutes which doubles to 1 hour chargeable time. Mr. ** complained the move took too long. [redacted] informed the driver to deduct 1 hour ($88.00) from the total amount due. He paid for 4 ¼ hours for his move.His statement our truck was going slow while driving from Hillcrest to Rancho Penasquitos is false. Trucks are to be driven no faster than 55 MPH. When a truck is loaded with furniture and cartons, it will cause the truck to go slower. We have a governor on the truck so it cannot go over 55 MPH. Driving north on state route 163 there is a hill that all trucks go up slow. Mr. ** followed our truck; therefore, he knows it took 30 minutes to make the drive.We have been unable to reach Mr. ** until Monday 16 October 2017. When [redacted]. [redacted] called him on 16 October 2017, a new claim form was mailed.If we do not receive the completed claim form, we will settle the claim at $.60 per pound per article. The valuation option selected by Mr. ** when signing the contract the day of the move, 22 September 2017.
