Ms. [redacted] called our office on February 12,2014 with a complaint about her electric bill.  Our Member Services Representative spoke with her...

and then met her at the residence on February 15, 2014 where he found an apparent problem with the heating unit.  He found the thermostat set to 68 degrees, but the inside temperature according to the same thermostat was 81 degrees.  He suggested that the heat may be running more than necessary since the actual temperature was far greater than the desired thermostat setting.  Then he suggested she might get someone to check out her heating unit.

As far as I know, this solved Ms. [redacted]’s situation.

In the future, if possible, please mail complaints via the U.S. Postal Service as Tallapoosa River Electric Cooperative may not receive emailed complaints due to “filtering” by software that may be beyond our control.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause or any delay you have experienced in contacting us in this situation.

Sincerely,

[redacted]General Manager
TREC

I understand that the business feel as if I should turn  my thermostat to a lower reading. I feel that there still should still be some sort of instigation as to to what each house is using during this  time.
