Worst customer service experience ever. I went to Tanas Hair Salon in Cary looking for some "Agave straightening treatment" Wanted to avoid [redacted] treatment that contains cancer causingFermeldahyde. During the consult I asked the question MULTIPLE times how it compares to [redacted] & if it straightens or not? because this is an extremely pricey treatment $250 for first time and $100/per hour!! She told me it will straighten beautifully & work perfectly for my hair. The treatment (takes3hrs) but after first hour the whole place started smoking up, 1 of the managers kept passing by making rude angry faces. Because of this pressure she wrapped by & rushed me in 2 hrs. My hair look straight like I was told. To my horror when I washed my hair the next day using agave specific products my hair fell flat & went right back to my natural hair which is soft, wavy to begin with. So basically the treatment FAILED MISERABLY and DID NOT WORK. I was so upset I called Tanas & spoke to the stylist who in turn tried to tell me she had been upfront with me that it would look like this. THAT WAS NOT THE TRUTH. I asked multiple times does it straighten like the [redacted] otherwise I wouldnt have wasted my money. I am getting surgery done in a few weeks &i cant blowdry my hair hence I needed this. The stylist agreed it didn't work on me, said it had happened to her before with a client &would give me a FULL REFUND. When I went back hairstylist called the office manager who should be fired for her RUDE, INSENSITIVE, UNPROFESSIONAL behavior. My poor 5yr old son was with me & she purposely made me wait. Finally owner comes out and said point blank to my face he didn't care and wouldnt do a refund and slapped with a gift card. Why would iwant to go back to a place that treats customers so horribly & treats them this way? Even [redacted] has a better CS experience and any good business owner should 1st acknowledge that they messed up & made a false promise, then have the decency to apologize & least they can do is offer refund.Product_Or_Service: AGAVE STRAIGHTENING TREATMENTDesired SettlementFULL REFUND BACK TO MY CREDIT CARD AND AN APOLOGY FROM THE RUDE FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST TO TREATED ME BADLY PURPOSELY MAKING ME WAIT WITH MY LITTLE CHILD SPEAKING RUDELY AND WALKING OUT ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF A CONVERSATION. AND AN APOLOGY FROM THE BUSINESS OWNER WITH A FULL REFUND TO SAY SORRY I WAS MADE A FALSE PROMISE, HIS PRODUCT WORKS FOR A VERY DIFFERENT THING AND IS NOT A STRAIGHTENING TREATMENT PERIOD. I HAVE BEEN LEFT SHAKEN, HUMILIATED AND DISTURBED BY THIS HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Business Response We completely appreciate your feedback and apologize that you were unhappy with your service. It has always been a policy of Tanas Hair Designs to try and correct any issues with a service rather than to issue a refund. Our stylists are very well trained in the services that they perform. We do not advertise the Agave treatment or [redacted] treatments as 'straightening treatments' as they are only meant to smooth frizz and may relax curl in some cases. Our stylists do a great job of conveying this during the consultation and we do apologize for any misunderstanding. Upon seeing your hair after the service had been completed, we feel that the treatment acted exactly as it should have. We apologize if you were made to wait to see the owner, however the salon can be very busy especially being that you stopped by in the middle of the day on a Saturday. We feel as though this situation was handled with the absolute most professionalism from all parties involved, and that a refund in the form of a gift certificate is appropriate compensation. While I understand your no-refund policy I feel personally it will deter a lot of good clientele makes exceptions especially when it is their fault. And in this case it absolutely was no fault of mine that the I was not INFORMED about Agave as a straightening treatment. Your stylists might have been trained for a certain schpeel about the treatments but I asked multiple questions specifically about the Agave vs the[redacted] and exacts results because I was already afraid it was being projected as something that it wasn't. Regardless, what upset me the most was the owner's attitude, his unprofessionalism in the manner in which he spoke to me forcing this statement on me saying "your hair looks nice the way its supposed too" As a client we come to the salon knowing what we want so making up an idea of what you want my hair to be just wasn't fair or right. My hair looks exactly the way it always does there was nothing different about it. Period. If I was unhappy ^ the treatment failed because of lack of communication on your part, I expect as a business owner that you would at least first talk to your clients professionally and at least listen to them. I felt humiliated the way the owner spoke to me & the way the receptionist handled the situation making me wait on purpose just because she knew I had come to seek a resolution. I am deeply disappointed. Customer Service is what sets this country apart and not even being willing to make an exception or listen to your clients doesn't reflect Tanas in very good light as a salon that wants the best for their customers.
