I'd like to first sincerely apologize for all that was done. We intend to fully reimburse you for that gift certificate. The worker that issued that certificated had not been working at our establishment since 10/**/2014. This was done without informing anyone else. Gift certificates are not done in...

Review: A friend of mine purchased a "gift certificate" for me from this restaurant for my birthday last year. Since this is a small operation, they don't really sell gift certificates, but whoever she spoke to here agreed to take her money and made up a certificate of sorts on paper, signed it, and stamped it with the restaurant's business stamp which includes their address. I came here to eat last night and before we ordered, I showed the "certificate" to my waiter who would not accept it, so I kindly asked to speak to the manager. The manager came over, took one look at the paper and said "This isn't for this restaurant. We don't do this." I pointed out the stamp on the paper to him and said that it reads: Tandoor Oven Restaurant, [redacted]. And asked if that was the restaurant's address. However the manager continued to insist that this is not their stamp, they have no such stamp in the restaurant, and he doesn't recall issuing this piece of paper and so therefore he could not accept it. We had a bit more back-and-forth of me insisting that the form could not be fabricated and that I was not trying to take advantage but that the certificate should be honored since my friend paid for it, and the manager continuing to tell me that they "don't do this." So I left the restaurant without eating. I'm just so appalled that these people would take someone's cash and then not honor a certificate they agreed to make up. I understand if they don't want to sell gift certificates, but then think it's dishonest to make an exception and take someone's money for one but not honor it. That is such horrible and dishonest business practice.Desired Settlement: I do not want to eat here, but I do want the restaurant to issue a refund so that I can give my friend her money back. The amount is $50 which the certificate says was paid in cash.
