I applied for a vacant apartment at Tanglewood apartments on 1/22/20. Per ***'s apartment assistant there were several vacancies and I could feel out the application with a 100 dollar application fee. I completed the application in its entirety and was informed I'd hear back from the complex by Friday (1/24/20) at the latest. I didn't hear anything back from the assistant, so I stopped by the office after calling all morning and couldn't get an answer. Once, I arrived at the office *** was in the office helping two other individuals. Whole the two were given keys to go look at apartments *** informed me there were no apartments available and she'd had an apartment ready for me by 2/3/20. Needless to say I received a call from the assistant late 1/31/20 indicating my application had been denied due to insufficient income and I didn't provide my phone number in order for her to call with my application update. I was misimformed about the application process and criteria needed in order to move in.
did indeed fill out an application for an apartment with us. She failed to give her phone number on the application. She was also informed that the $100 application fee is non-refundable, as we have to pay for the background check. She was also told that the information she provided would be sent to the owners in CA to either approve or deny. This is normally a two-day process. She listed an income of $1238 per month. The rent is $800. The owners prefer 2 to 2 1/2 times the amount for the income. As you can see, her income did not meet that criteria. I told her at the beginning before she filled out the application that neither Alicia or I made the decision on whether or not she was accepted. Each applicant is made aware of this before they are given the application.
I did try to call her when I received the denial, but as previously stated, she did not include a phone number. She stated that I told her about several vacancies that were available. This is simply not true. Alicia handles all rentals, I handle background checks and evictions.
I am sorry she was not accepted, she seemed to be a nice person. However, most people are upset when they are denied an apartment. This is one of the milder complaints. Normally there is a lot of screaming, name calling, and sometimes the police have to get involved. I'd rather deal with the Revdex.com.

I am rejecting this response because:
Cece told me income did not matter at the time of the application and I have a recorded call of her indicating she wasn't aware the rent went up and I'd be denied due to income. If she would have mentioned the income guideline I wouldn't have applied due to the fact my income wouldn't have qualified me. I believe she never filed my application and just kept my 100 dollars for her own good.
