February 15, 2017Dear *** ***:*** ***'s complaint regarding a Taste of Home Books invoice she received was forwarded to my attentionI would like to explain our invoicing process, and clear up any misunderstandings there may be regarding the language on our bills.*** *** had been
enrolled in our Taste of Home Everyday Slow Cooker and One Dish book series since March, 2014, where she had the opportunity to preview each new annual edition risk-free for days before deciding to keep and pay for it, or return the book to us.We shipped the version to *** *** on August 30, She was invoiced for the book per the offer termsPlease note that the back of each invoice included instructions for returning the preview book if she did not wish to keep it.*** *** contacted us on December 22, to inform us she would be returning the bookWe suspended billing efforts at that time for a period of days, to allow ample time for our fulfillment warehouse to receive and process the returnAfter the 30-day period lapsed with no return processed, our invoicing efforts were once again initiated, and a 5th effort bill was sent.The language on our effort bill is as follows: “Failure to remit payment by DATE will affect Taste of Home Book's assessment of your credit ratingPlease return the bill and payment today to cease further collection efforts.” We make no mention on our bills, saying we report to any Official Government Credit Bureau.Our records show that the book was received at our fulfillment warehouse on January 27, 2017, at which time the balance was removed from her account, and billing efforts ceased.I hope this helps clear up any misunderstandings, as Taste of Home Books values each customer, and works hard to keep their trust.Sincerely, Ruth BCustomer Care
