Tate & Kirlin Associates Reviews (264)

Review: On October 23, 2013 I received a copy of my credit report from Experian. A new entry from Tate & Kirlin has appeared. This company has bought a junk debt and is trying to collect on a zombie account. The original account was to be off my credit in June of 2013. It appears they purchased the account in August of 2013 and have started reporting it in October of 2013. This is highly illegal as they have also re-aged the account and have caused a derogatory outcome on my report. The report says that it is to be on my credit until may of 2016. The company has never sent a dunning letter and they are using illegal tactics to collect on this account. As they have repeatedly used these methods in trying to collect debts as shown by their B- grade and repeat offenses, I hope this matter can be handled promptly and without repercussion.Desired Settlement: This company must immediately remove all entries from any credit reporting agencies (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion). Failure to do so without haste will force a lawsuit of at least $1,000 per entry. There is only a 10 day window I am extending to them to fix this issue before I file suit.

Review: I received a letter addressed 11/27/2013. I asked to have the name and address of the creditor to whom the debt is currently owed, the account number used by that creditor, and the amount owed. • If this debt started with a different creditor, provide the name and address of the original creditor, the account number used by that creditor, and the amount owed to that creditor at the time it was transferred. When you identify the original creditor, please provide any other name by which I might know them, if that is different from the official name. In addition, tell me when the current creditor obtained the debt and who the current creditor obtained it from. • Provide verification and documentation that there is a valid basis for claiming that I am required to pay the debt to the current creditor. For example, can you provide a copy of the written agreement that created my original requirement to pay? • If you are asking that I pay a debt that somebody else is or was required to pay, identify that person. Provide verification and documentation about why this is a debt that I am required to pay. The amount and age of the debt, specifically: • A copy of the last billing statement sent to me by the original creditor. • State the amount of the debt when you obtained it, and when that was. • If there have been any additional interest, fees, or charges added since the last billing statement from the original creditor, provide an itemization showing the dates and amount of each added amount. In addition, explain how the added interest, fees or other charges are expressly authorized by the agreement creating the debt or are permitted by law. • If there have been any payments or other reductions since the last billing statement from the original creditor, provide an itemization showing the dates and amount of each of them.Desired Settlement: If they delete account, cease reporting it to the credit bureaus, I will consider this matter resolved. Also, I would like my contact information deleted from their mailing/phone list immediately.

We received this account from our client [redacted] on 11-8-2013, We originally sent our validation notice to the consumer on 11-11-13. On 11-26-2013 we received a new address from the post office and forwarded our validation notice on 11-27-2013. By this complaint we have received the validation request and have forwarded it to our client. We are closing the account in our office per the consumers request. Review: I received a collection letter dated 11/27/13 regarding a settlement opportunity for a client's debt ([redacted]). The client ref #[redacted], account #[redacted] and total due $193.04 was included in the letter. I have no idea what this debt could possibly be for and neither does their client, [redacted], who acknowledged that they do work with Tate & Kirlin Associates.

I called [redacted]'s member services tel ####-###-#### today, Saturday 12/7/13 and verified that I had an order history of 3 past orders. May 4, 2010 (which was cancelled), June 22, 2011 (which was paid in full Sept 17,2011) & July 30, 2011 (which was cancelled). I am 84 years old and have Alzheimer's disease. My daughter & son-in-law now handle all of my finances, however I have always had a perfect credit record and have never not paid a debt due. [redacted] was very apologetic and volunteered to put my address and telephone # on their Do Not Contact List to alleviate the possibility of any future billing problems. They reiterated that they have no idea why Tate & Kirlin Associates would be pursuing a debt in their name.

I will be sending a Debt Validation Letter but understand that Tate & Kirlin Associates are not obliged to answer or provide any further details. I am also aware that MANY others have done the same and ultimately ended up with negative reports on their credit history despite repeated attempts to get more information and resolve any collections actions.Desired Settlement: If they delete my account and do not report it to the credit bureaus, I will consider this matter resolved.

The letters did not even have [redacted] on them. Yes. They attempted to bill me fraudulently (Tate and Kirklin) but I have never heard of the business they claim to represent.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

Review: I have found Tate & Kirlin on my credit report and would like to know why! I do not even know who this company is and who they are representing. Please explain why this is on my credit report and who they are associated with; what company do they represent? Is there a debt I owe? I would like to make sure there has not been fraud with someone using my name for purchases. I do not have knowledge of any association with this company. I just want to know why they are doing an inquiry on me.Desired Settlement: To gain more information about this company and who they are associated with. To know if there is some bill out there in my name I am not aware of! I want an explanation as to why this company would be doing a credit check on me.

Review: Tate & Kirlin Associates Account#[redacted] failed to validate this alleged debt per my letter request dated June 17, 2014 therefor violating the FCRA, FDCPA, under Arkansas state statue. I have proof of this; certified mail#[redacted]. Also, I sent a dispute to all credit bureaus([redacted],[redacted],[redacted]) but no response, which again violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.Desired Settlement: I would like this removed from all credit reports([redacted],[redacted],[redacted]) or I will be forced to take legal action if it is not removed my credit files immediately. Tat & Kirlin Associates has been notified.

Business

Response:

This account was placed in our office on 01/08/2014 from our client [redacted], on 06/24/2014 we received a letter from the customer requesting documentation.on 06/26/2014 Tate and Kirlin Associates cancelled any negative reporting our company placed on the credit report, the account was placed in dispute status and returned to our client [redacted] on 07/08/2014.

Review: On July 5th 2014 I checked my [redacted] credit report, and much to my surprise I had new "potentially negative" information that had been added to my report. A new collection listing from Tate and Kirlin appeared--and I have absolutely NO idea what it could be from, where this account originated or what I could have possibly have been sent to collections for. I have never received a dunning letter, or ANY explanation/information as to what this supposed debt is from. My credit report states it originated in May of 2014, and was late as of June 2014--but I have no known debts from that time period (no doctors visits ect, and definitely NEVER received a bill from the original debt or ANYTHING from Tate and Kirlin). I was extremely concerned with the debt reported on my credit history and its damage to my score, and I sought to look up the company--I have found many other people who have had similar experiences. I feel this has been improperly handled, and needs to be removed quickly. It threatens my credit history for completely unfounded reasons. I would like this resolved by the company immediately.Desired Settlement: I would like the account immediately removed from ALL credit reporting agencies, and my credit restored to its original state before this unfounded charge was added. If they delete the account (removing it immediately), and permanently cease reporting it to any and all credit agencies--I will consider the matter resolved. If it is not resolved promptly, I will have to take additional action.

Review: I reviewed my Experian credit report tonight as I am going through the mortgage process and have been monitoring balances. I noticed a collection account from this company that has no validity. I have never received a dunning notice for this debt. I have no idea what this debt is even for. Review: [redacted] mistakenly charged me an "early termination fee' that did not apply, and gave that account to Tate & Kirlin. When I received the first collection letter, I contacted [redacted], who said they would contact Tate & Kirlin and have the account closed. [redacted] assured me that Tate & Kirlin would close the account, remove the report on my credit history, and send me a letter stating that the account was closed.

I have received a second debt collection letter. [redacted] have again told Tate & Kirlin the account is closed. Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: I received a collection letter from this company late last year stating I owed a debt to a company called [redacted]? I asked the nature of the debt and I was told it was a medical bill from 2011. This was the first time I was made aware of this debt and reading the letter it had two previous collection agenices ([redacted] and [redacted]) that never notified me of this debt. I explained this to the person I spoke with, [redacted], but it appears that this debt was reported to the credit bureaus anyway. I explained to the agent that I have held the same medical insurance, [redacted], for the past 11 years and also informed her that my employer's payroll system was hacked by a sub contractor (I have evidence of this that can be faxed to your office for review) and the person who committed this criminal act was apprehended in Florida. His name is [redacted] and I do possess the police report and news article of this case.

If this account was created by another person, than I do not know who this person may be.

I have tried unsuccessfully to contact the previous two collection agencies, my phone calls or emails have not been returned.Desired Settlement: I want this collection account removed from my credit report as I did not incur this debt and this agency has not done a very good job in ensuring that I was the one who created this account with the company I was told services was used.

Review: Account # [redacted]- I have sent in multiple certified letters to previous collection agency on this account [redacted] EMERGENCY PHYSICIANS and showed them documents where I was a victim of identity theft, I was told they will delete, instead information was sold to this agency, and this company is in violation of the law.

Federal law requires that lenders report the original delinquency date of the account, and that collection agencies carry over that date, this company is reporting to the credit bureaus as a new debt. (December 2013) It is a violation of law for a collection agency to report old past-due amounts as if they are new again when the debts are sold. Due to this fact, I will not hesitate to file a lawsuit since you are reporting inaccurate information to the credit bureaus.Desired Settlement: Please provide me with the following:

What the money you say I owe is for;

Explain and show me how you calculated what you say I owe;

Provide me with copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe;

Provide a verification or copy of any judgment if applicable;

Identify the original creditor;

Prove the Statute of Limitations has not expired on this account;

Show me that you are licensed to collect in my state; and

Provide me with your license numbers and Registered Agent.

If your offices fail to respond to this validation request within 30 days from the date of your receipt, all references to this account must be deleted and completely removed from my credit file and a copy of such deletion request shall be sent to me immediately.
