Review: When we interviewed the owner [redacted] he stated that there would be damage to the lawn but if there was any other damage, he would be responsible. He assured us that there wouldn't be any other damage. He scheduled to do the job on 9/15. I had set up other contractors to follow him in subsequest weeks. He assured me that he would complete the job in a day and it would only be delayed due to weather. On the morning of 9/15, his wife called to say the truck he needed was in for repair and she wanted to reschedule for next week. I told her that [redacted] was well aware that we had other contractors lined up starting next week. She said, he could come on Fri. She called on Thur. and asked if he could start Thur. afternoon. I said that would be great. The job went smoothly but instead of taking one day it took 1 and half. He left Fri and said he'd return to remove the large pieces with another vehicle. He and wife came around 7 pm and he did so. On the way out, his wife came back and showed us that he had cut our sprinkler line. We said we'd call our contractor to fix it and be in touch with them. We needed two heads and part of the line replaced for $189.39, which I paid. On Mon., I called the company for reimbursement. I left a message. By Fri., my call had not been returned so I called again. This time I reached the wife who told me that they did not pay for sprinkler damage. I told her that [redacted] had said everything but lawn damage would be their responsibility. She agreed to talk to him about it and let me know. I didn't hear back for her so I called again. She restated her position. By this time I got in touch with the contractor who had referred me to Taves. He gave me [redacted]' cell number and said to speak with him directly. I called and [redacted] said that this was the first time he heard about my prior calls. He asked for additional information and also said that sprinkler repairs are something he could handle. He said that if the line was close to the tree (within threeDesired Settlement: Refund my sprinkler repair cost as the owner originally told us he would, amount is $189.39. Line was beyond three feet from tree. Sprinkler line runs straight between two visible heads.
