Greetings Ms. Horne. I received your letter today regarding a past client, [redacted] , filing a complaint of non-completion for her 2010 New Jersey State Taxes. According to my records, Ms WrayScriven did not have her employer (Verizon) at that time to withhold any New Jersey taxes. In a... telephone conversation, Ms. Scriven informed me that she had recently moved to New Jersey and had a previous address of 107-48 132"Street. Richmond Hill, NY 11419.Ms. [redacted] 's 2010 W-2 does not have any New Jersey withholdings for the entire calendar year of 2010. Specifically, her entire taxable gross for 2010, $99,932.48, was taxed by New York State. This was an issue that Ms. [redacted] should have informed her then employer, Verizon, to withhold state taxes with the state of New Jersey whenever she changed residence. Unfortunately, Ms. [redacted] did not update her state withholdings with Verizon which has created this problem. The fees that I received for the completed services provided to Ms. [redacted] totaled $120.00. The Federal tax return charge was $90,00 and the New York state return charge was $30.00. Both of these returns were completed to Ms. [redacted] 's satisfaction. This is the first notification regarding this problem with her 2010 state tax return. I have not spoken to Ms. [redacted] since June 2013.To resolve this issue, Ms. [redacted] will need to contact the State of New Jersey Department of Revenue and inform them of the date that she relocated to New Jersey from New York. At that time her taxable gross can be accurately distributed among both states, if necessary. As for the 2010 W-2 that I have on record, the numbers are final and Verizon has accurately reported what Ms. [redacted] to the proper Federal Agencies. If you have any further questions and/or concerns, please feel free to contact me at the information below.Regards,Mr. Lashon L .B***, CPP2345 Leyton Court Waldorf, MD 20603 From: [redacted] To: [redacted] Date: Wednesday, March 2, 2011 10:20 PMCheckingI mailed payment off today. I am rejecting this response because:
I will remain steadfast as well as a dissatisfied customerOnce again, I have already ameliorated my tax issues in spite of the poor service I received from this business.Mrb***'s blatant denial that he was unaware of my address, which is not only untrue; but what ultimately led to the discrepancy in my taxes being reported properly to the NJ State Tax Department is why I want my complaint to remain open
