Tax Shop

I first contacted this business early April and was surprised at how quickly *** respondedOver the course of a few days, we corresponded via text, phone, and email while I collected required docsMine was a simple, standard return, so they were prepared rather quickly I signed the prepared docs, returned them to *** thinking everything was fine
It wasn't until end of May, while recovering from a major surgery, that I realized I hadn't received any confirmation of submission of my return I called, texted, and sent emails, dozens of times and no one ever respondedAfter a month of attempts, I finally went to the Tax Shop office just to discover it was a poperation - they simply rent office space during tax season The receptionist, seeing how upset I was, helpfully tracked *** down and put me on the phone with himI demanded either a full refund or my return submitted He proceeded to pelt me with excuses:
- he was in another country/time zone and it was very late where he was
- there was little to no internet connectivity where he was
- he had asked one of his (colleagues? employees?) to submit my return & he didn't understand why they hadn't
- he didn't have access to my file & it would be difficult to get given the lack of connectivity
When I threatened to report him to the Revdex.com and the IRS, he told me he'd obtain a copy of my return and have it submitted within hours
That day, I emailed him the copy of efile form that I'd signed and sent in April He replied the following day that he couldn't find my efile form - could I sign and return the version he'd attached??? He apparently hadn't even bothered to read the email I sent, much less open the attachment His attached version was exactly like the version I'd resent him, except the date was updated
Anyway, long story short, it took an additional days of email inquiries/pressure from me, and more polite incompetence from him, to get him to submit my return and send me confirmation
I'd read yelp reviews where other customers had similar experiences but thought perhaps they might have been misunderstandings, given that most of the reviews were positive But apparently, taking customers money and dissapearing is a Tax Shop business practice
Do yourself a favor, and go elsewhere

Review: The Tax Shop wrongfully did our taxes for us personally & business, fraudulently filed under another business, did not set up S Corp correctly or workers comp, did not do our 941's, had 2 tax ID's for our business due to incorrectly filing our Corp, fraudulently did 'write offs' for our business saying since we were new it's always a 'wash' with write offs. Also forged signatures of mine & my husbands, we were not made aware that he even filed our business taxes until April 14th when we went to have our personal taxes done.Therefor our personal taxes were fraudulent in result of our business taxes.Desired Settlement: I would like to his business investigated, has multiple lawsuits for filing fraudulent taxes (Columbiana County Courts -Lisbon Ohio)I will also be notifying the IRS and Ohio Dept of Taxation.
