Taxman CPA's, PC Reviews (5)

I have come to learn that no matter what is done, someone will not be satisfied.  Having done this for approximately 33 years now, having a dissatisfied client was inevitable.  A little background.  They came in near the end of the tax season to have their taxes prepared.  They...

did pay $ 240 for the service rendered.  The tax return was done but not immediately e-filed due to our internal system where all tax returns are reviewed before they are submitted.  Due to some personal matters that occurred near the 15th of April where I was unable to finalize their return, we automatically extended the return so we would not incur any late fees, etc. until we could finalize and e-file the return.  The personal matters that occurred involved the safety of my family which caused me to take them out of state.  It wasn't until this week that their return was actually e-filed.  That is extremely unusual but due to the personal matters that I was facing, I didn't get back to my e-files as timely as would have been done in previous years.  That is my fault but I do not apologize because I was doing what was necessary in my situation.  I told them I was sorry but under the circumstances, I could not change what had happened.  They wanted a refund for services rendered.  I denied that request.  The tax return was done.  It was e-filed and accepted, maybe not on their time frame but it was done and the service was rendered.  Would I do what was done under similar circumstances? The answer is yes.  I invited them to find another tax preparer and wished them well.  [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. This was the 2nd year we used this company to complete our taxes. The first year we had no issues. This year we brought our taxes in on April 5th and specifically asked if we could get them done in time by the April 15th deadline for “all” taxpayers. If he would not have been able to complete our taxes then we had the right to know up front so we can make an educated decision and take our business elsewhere. We were told that [redacted] would have our taxes completed and e-filed before the due date. As I totally understand life happens and not everything’s within our control. At the very least, 2 months after the fact,  we could have been communicated to that this issue had  affected our e-filing. Instead, when we called to find out the status  we were given false information and told everything was taken care of and we did not need to take any additional action.  My husband and I were waiting on our refund to no avail. It took us having to call the CPA 2 months later to determine what had happened with our returns. It was then, that he filed our return. My concern is that if we didn’t call, when exactly would he have filed? Again, due to circumstances out of his control in April, he filed our taxes late, without our consent, after he told us our taxes were e-filed, and without follow up communication. We paid for a service that was not delivered as expected and as it had been in the past. There was no regard for any legal ramifications against us, and the complete and utter arrogance [redacted] had when discussing the matter with me proved he had zero regard for his clients. Most companies, or any human being with common decency, would have been apoplectic which would have gone a long way in our confidence that this person was sincere and actually cared for us as clients/humans. As [redacted] stated he would do it again if he had to and is not sorry for what happened. To me this is the poorest standard of customer care and absolute disregard for what is the basic expectation of service. Not once did he apologies which would have gone a long way. He spoke to me as if my concerns were an annoyance and that I could just go find someone else to do our taxes in the future, which by the way, was never his choice. I would never choose to do business with someone as untrustworthy, corrupt, arrogant, with lack of human decency ever again. With his actions, the way he spoke to me and his lack of business acumen, he is no better than a con-artist. Unfortunately has chosen not to refund our $240.00 which I hope is worth the business he is losing as more and more of my friends, family, co-workers, and acquaintances have decided to take their business elsewhere so that they do not end u in the same situation.  I hope it was worth it to him. But if in the event eh Revdex.com can get our refund we would much appreciate the assistance.    Regards,[redacted]

Review: e had our tax returns completed in April 2015. by [redacted] at [redacted] dba TaxMan CPAs. We were told our tax returns were e-filed in April and we have documents stating the same. It's now June and we have not received our refunds. We called the state and were told they never received our tax return for 2014. We called [redacted] and we were told due to personal circumstances our tax returns were not filed in April. There was no communication to us that our returns were not filed. [redacted] was not only unapologetic he was rude, arrogant, defensive, and refused to refund our tax return money. [redacted] did not care that this could have caused a negative consequence for my husband and I and lied to cover up his mistake. I would strongly urge anyone who had their taxes completed by [redacted] this year to verify that their returns were accurately filed. I have filed a formal complaint with the IRS and the Revdex.com. I will not return to have our taxes done next year and I will notify the many friends/co-workers that have gone to [redacted] to reconsider in the future.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of our $240 as our taxes were not e-filed before the due date of 04/15/15 as we were told and expected.
