I had my taxes filed in 2014 with this company and after providing all my tax paperwork I was told that any mistakes would be honored by this company.On December 8th 2014 I got a notice from the IRS that I owed $792.00 due to not claiming money from a settlement involving the government. When I provided this paperwork during my taxes being prepared I was told I did not need to claim this because it was a settlement from the government. The amount of the settlement from the federal government was $2507.00, and I received a settlement from the state of $600.00 and the total was $3107.00 of earned money not claimed. I had asked during the processing of my taxes and [redacted] Ruzzoli (tax processor) told me to disregard this paperwork. I payed $190.00 for this service upon completion of my taxes. This year I was fined by the IRS for the $792.00 owed that I was unaware of because of this company. I reluctantly paid the $792.00 on January 6, 2015 to the IRS because I did not want to get into trouble. I approached the manager before paying the IRS, but he told me it was not their issue. The manager said they could do my taxes for free this year as a compensation.Desired SettlementI would like for the company to except responsibility as they had promised they would when my taxes were prepared. I would like them to refund me the $792.00 I had to pay to the IRS for their failure in preparing my taxes.Business Response Prior to Mr. [redacted] submitting a complaint to Revdex.com, he had contacted me regarding an assessment that he received from the IRS. I had requested to view the original settlement document that he had received but, Mr. [redacted] had stated that he threw it away. I offered to assist him with the penalties and interest, but not the tax since it was not our liability. I offered to prepare this year's taxes for him at no cost for customer relations. I would have offered him a refund on the preparation fee for last year's taxes but, I did not hear back from him. Mr. [redacted] then submitted a complaint to Revdex.com.
