Tayco Construction, LLC Reviews (5)

Tayco responded and repaired this HVAC system within the property owner's contract requirements. The system is functioning properly. Any further dispute the tenant has should be directed toward their landlord, the property owner - American Homes 4 Rent.  We consider the matter closed.

As stated before the unit was OFF in the house.  I knew NOTHING about a gray box outside and that it had to be off.   Secondly, the technician told me he received a text on the night he contacted me at work.  I knew NOTHING about him and was told by American Homes 4 Rent that someone from maintenance was supposed to come at 8:00 on Thursday.  I informed the technician of this as well.  He said he could come to the house by noon.  When he arrived the unit was probably on but NOT in the house.  So again, I know nothing about a gray box that turns EVERYTHING off.  NOTHING.  Plus, the maintenance guy from American Homes 4 Rent came so I thought he knew what he was doing to fix the issue.  So when [redacted] showed up I was "shocked" and then he started that mess about the unit being on.  I don't have time for this back and forth "madness".  I NEEDED my unit fixed.  I had to suggest to him that he check the unit out personally before he found out what the problem was.  He told me he would have to get an approval to fix the issue.  That was the LAST thing I heard from him.  So, I called him on Friday and he told me to text him.  So I did.  Then he told me he obtained the approval to fix the issue.  That was the last I heard from [redacted]!  Then when I called him on Saturday to find out what was going on he told me to text him again.  He NEVER replied back.  So I STOPPED trying to contact him and have since found a company that is down the street from where I lived named Big Bear A/C.  They called me back today, and set-up an appointment with me to come tomorrow at 11a.m.  Today, I get a call from [redacted] talking about he has the board and would come today to install it if someone was at home.  Went on this story about he had to deal with this and that this weekend so that is why he NEVER responded back.  In the meantime me, my son, and dogs are dealing with the heat.  He said he would call me once he was on his way to my house.  Haven't heard a word from him so what I plan to do is keep my appointment with Big Bear A/C since I know these folks will take care of the problem without giving me the run around.  I am NOT calling American Homes 4 Rent again either.  I will take them to small claims court to recoup the money I am going to have to put out to get my unit fixed by a reputable company that is NOT going to give me the run-around.

I am DONE with this company and my landlord can deal with them.  I will let EVERYONE I know NOT TO DO BUSINESS w/them!

Yes the tech came and moved the panel board to the front of the unit.  Now look at ALL THE WIRING and the top of the device is at the bottom of the pics.  The new thermostat that he installed stays on and I will have to read how to work it.  The old one by Honeywell, had a way of setting up the system to where the a/c would kick off once it gets to a certain temperature.  Again, I was NOT at home, but if I was I would have jumped all over him about this "madness".  Did he clean-up after the work he did?  Nope, left that mess for me and talked about how it took him 3 hours to do that.  It took me an ENTIRE week without air so I do NOT want to hear it!  I will be obtaining another reputable company to come tomorrow and make some sense out of that possible fire hazard.  WIRES EVERY WHERE.  Would this be acceptable to you?  Really?

To Whom It May Concern.  We received this work order from American Homes for Rent on 6.1.16. Without any knowledge of the Company promising a technician for the following day at 8 am, we scheduled with the tenant for that same evening, a day before she was expecting anyone. The tenant was...

informed that in order to service her unit, it needed to be turned off completely. When our technician arrived, the unit outside was on, frozen, and could not be serviced. Our technician proceeded to inform the tenant that he could come back the following morning around noon to assess it, turning the unit completely off before leaving. When he arrived the following morning as promised (6.2.16), the unit was backed on, still not working. After the assessment was made, and following the policies and agreement we have with American Homes for Rent, we proceed to create and estimate and wait for approval. We received the approval on 6.3, informed the tenant we will require to order the part needed to perform final repairs, and that may take until the following Monday. (6.6.16) We are confident we provided excellent customer service at all times while trying to accommodate the tenant. We responded faster than the expected respond time (24 hours for emergencies) and kept the tenant informed at all times of the policies and procedures we were obligated to follow per our agreement with American Homes for Rent.
