Taylor construction is, without doubt, one of highest integrity companies that I have dealt with in my 67+ years! A situation arose that could have had less than desirable outcomes (not disastrous...relatively minor, in my opinion), but Gerald T*** personally called me and made a self-sacrificing decision that could only have come from a transformed life He lives his faith I pray that Taylor Construction will continue to prosper and be a blessing to others MrT*** did not in any way preach to me, except in his actions Beside that and my asking questions, I would not know the reasons But he is certainly not ashamed and ready to give an answer when you ask! So I encourage everyone to do so

*** *** was informed that he should register his HVAC equipment with the manufacturer. The compressor was replaced with a new compressor as well as a new capacitor and a new dryerM** *** was not charged for any of the parts, materials or a diagnostic or service call chargeWhen I

Taylor Construction Services
has suggested a reduction in the scope of the project in the amount of $to
compensate for the damaged alarm panel and the broken latch on the panel; it is
our understanding that the customer feels this is fair. We have confirmed by site visit that the
service cable from the *** *** meter to the point where it attaches to
the connection from the street has been replaced The service cable from the meter to the new
panel has also been replaced as well as the interior panels. Since we did not replace the cable between
the main panel and the sub panel our inspection was rejected. We have advised the customer that we will
replace the cable at no charge to them.
We have also let the customer know that we will be more than happy to
replace the heat pump with the seer unit thew requested at no charge to
them, or, we will let them keep the existing seer unit at less than half the
upgraded cost. We are just waiting to
hear from the customer at this point and would encourage them to contact us via
phone to help expedite this resolution

Me & my wife purchased a A/C unit from Taylor, all that say that it will do we haven't seen none of itWhen you try to talk with Taylor about the problem, they say someone will call you backOf course you know that they don't, they give you a good sales pitch but nothing works out the way it say it doesWe are paying a lot of money for this unit, we just will like for it to do the job that Taylor say that it wouldI will be calling channel news to go out and talk with Taylor Construction, not HAPPY at all

To Whom It May Concern: To address the first complaint about improper installation of equipment which was installed in 2011, nowhere on our invoice does it state from the technician that the cause of freon loss was due to installationWe stated it could
possibly have come from the factory that way but there was no way to know for sure after five years of the unit operating properlyHe has had two preventative maintenance checks and neither of those technicians found any issue with installationThe year parts and labor warranty pertains to any part replacement and labor to replace that part, however it does not cover the diagnostic fee after the first year. MrTaylor spoke with the technician and waived all freon feesI also spoke with Mr*** myself and most certainly did apologize for the technician's behavior as well as being on hold for that period of time. I also explained to him that we had in fact changed over to a new computer system and in the process of back loading information. We feel we have done everything possible to rectify the situation and we will reimburse Mr*** the amount of $65.00, however the diagnostic fee of $still stands as it does for all customers after the first year of installation

saving for the home. We agreed on  using a [redacted] with a [redacted] air handler. which is a value system. We added a UV sterilizer and whole house media filter because her son has allergies. We had the equipment delivered to our office and it was damaged. I had to return it and get another outdoor unit. Since there was a delay I upgraded her to a RPNL series heat pump which is the next level higher. I have attached literature of both systems so you can verify this. We did arrive at the home later than we had intended due to the damaged equipment. The delay was unavoidable but did not prevent us from completing on time. I fulfilled my contract and preformed work beyond the scope of my work.  The breakdown on this job was due to the electrician she hired. I was not contracted to preform any electrical work on this job. She did ask me if I could install bathroom vent fans after the contract was signed. During our conversation the electrician interrupted stating that it was more electrical and he would do it. I agreed and was leaving when I was asked if I minded running the venting from the fan to outside the structure. I told him if the fan were installed and the vents were there I would help. Neither of those details were done. My Installer was told that we were to provide the venting and install it. He tried contacting me to verify but was not able to til later that day. My installer thinking he was doing the right thing left the job purchased the vent and began install them. Once he got to the second vent fan he noticed that it was installed incorrectly not allow the vent to be attached. My installer then told the electrician of the problem and instructed him to make the adjustments necessary. The electrician stated he would install the vent after making the changes. Then my worker left the home. There was also a breaker running to the outdoor unit that is over sized which is not code. She felt we need to correct the breaker even though we never worked in the panel box. I have since found that the electrician and the home owner are friends. I wish to resolve this situation but doing work My company was not contracted to preform is unreasonable.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Good afternoon,

My wife, and I don't agree with this resolution due to having to take our house off the Market, because Taylor Construction Failed to complete the job. The purpose of the upgrade was to assist in selling our home. The difference in the price between the 13 Seer, and the 15 Seer heat Pump is $935.00 not $700.00.

The Proposal clearly states that Taylor Construction would make all necessary connections per code for the price that was quoted to us. My wife and I never advised Taylor Construction that we hired another contractor for previous work, We have never had any upgrades since living [redacted]. When we moved to this location both the Panel Box, and the Sub-Panel box were operating on fuses and the house passed inspection, so I'm not sure where they are getting their information, but nothing was installed here without a permit. We were advised by Taylor Construction that both boxes would need to be changed.

The electrical upgrade is [redacted]. Taylor Construction did not relocate the meter to the side of the house where power comes in from the street. They upgraded the Panel Box with new wiring, and installed a new Sub-Panel Box with the old wiring.  The Scope of the work is not the same, because they failed to do the work in the proposal.  Taylor Construction did not run any new service cable from the street attachment to the meter location, therefore this price needs adjusting. They removed the cover off my home alarm wires, and didn't bother to replace them. The new Panel box does not latch shut.

We FAILED the City of [redacted] inspection on 1/22/2014, and again on 2/19/2014, the inspector said he did not understand why Taylor Construction would send him to our home if they didn't complete the work the first time.

Taylor Construction never advise us of a low wall return or, changing any vents until after we started complaining about the thermostat continuing to run on emergency heat.

We have had a heat pump installed in another house in one day, with no complaints, or concerns. Taylor Construction have not been available for any repairs, or modifications. Since trying to communicate with them, we have been called liars, and was told that we just wanted something for nothing. Now how professional is that?

My wife, and I actually took a week vacation hoping to get the project completed and yes, access is limited because we have to work for a living.

This project started on December 16, and is still incomplete. My wife and I would prefer letting another company complete the job and deduct the charges from Taylor's construction.  These folks can not be trusted. We are hoping to get this issue resolved as soon as possible, because it really shouldn't have take this long.
We have attached a copy of the Proposal, the City of [redacted] Inspection reports for January, February, and Pictures of the condition they left my house in over Christmas, and New Year.
Regards,

Re: Revdex.com Case #[redacted] [redacted]                 I am attaching a copy of our contract for you to review. Taylor ConstructionServices Heating & Air,...

Inc., will only complete work within the scope ofour contract. We never promise services or product without putting it inwriting either as an addendum or a rewrite of the original contract. The time line of this project is as follows:One of my Installation crew went to the residence to remove all the old HVACequipment and the complete duct system, to allow for the customer to fumigatehis house and crawl space. Our customer contacted my office to notify us he wasready for the new HVAC equipment and ductwork. I asked him if he hadreinstalled the insulation in the crawl space. Our customer said he didn’tremove the insulation but he had sprayed and it would be fine. When the job was complete I spoke with ourcustomer and he commented that the system was work great and the UV lights wereon and he was happy. Our customer thanked me for my attention on his job. ThenI filed the paper assuming a completed project. Our customer contacted me to tell me that thebird mites that were in his house before are back. Our customer stated that themites are entering the home through gaps between the duct boots and thesubfloor. I came to the home on 12/12/2014 to caulk the duct boot to the floorin an effort to help our customer with his pest problem. Caulking the boot isnot a normal practice, nor was it part of his contract. I performed the workmyself, at no charge, to hopefully appease our customer. I had no knowledge ofa defective light until my visit to the home on 12/12/2014 and could not verifyon my visit if it was truly not functioning because our customer would notallow me to turn the equipment on due to his pest problem. Our customer has now removed the insulationwhich should have been done originally. Taylor Construction Services Heating& Air is not a pest company. The system was operating as expected with noissues. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience to our customer and his family.Taylor Construction Service Heating & Air did not create, nor have theability to prevent, the current outcome.

Taylor Construction Services
was contracted to install a new heat pump,...

remove the old oil heating system
and upgrade the electrical service to 200 amps.
Our discussion about the heat pump was based on the fact that the
homeowner was currently using oil.  They
mentioned they wanted to get rid of oil and install a heat pump.  We advised that we could certainly do that
and brought several things to their attention.
1: the existing electrical panel was insufficient for a
new heat pump so it would need to be upgraded to 200 amps.
2: the existing distribution system was designed with
cooling in mind only.  The air outlets
were the round type in the ceiling.  We
advised the homeowner that these vents are made to distribute air across the
ceiling and let the cool air fall throughout the room.  This works great for air conditioning.  Warm air has a tendency to rise and has its
limitations heating a room when distributed across the ceiling.
3: the existing air return is in the ceiling as well,
this is great at removing heat but isn’t the best scenario when trying to
remove the cold energy in the winter.

Based on these observations
we suggested a few options.  First and
foremost we recommended a low wall return.
This would put an air intake as low as possible to the floor to help
remove the cold air in the winter.  We
also briefly discussed the possibility of changing certain vents to the style
that blow air to the floor, not across the ceiling.  While this was briefly discussed, it was
stressed that the low air return vent would help tremendously.  We stated that if these items were not done
then there “may” be problems with comfort and operating time of the new
system.  We did state that they could be
done at the time of the installation, or, they could be done at a later date if
the customer did not want to do at this time.
The customer, in this instance, chose to wait.

Taylor Construction Services
did install a 15 seer, high efficiency heat pump.  We can only suggest that there was a
misinterpretation when it came to their choice of products.  We understood the customer to want the 15
seer unit so that is what we installed.
We will be more than happy to either, let them keep the 15 seer unit and
only charge them the cost for the equipment (approx. $700), or we will be more
than happy to install the 13 seer unit as they have stated they requested and
adjust the price accordingly.

When discussing the
electrical upgrade, we mentioned that the power company makes us relocate the
meter base to the side of the house and not behind any fencing.  The homeowners were adamant about leaving the
meter base in its same location based on some concerns with neighborhood
children and previous property destruction issues.  I told them I would do my best to have the
meter approved in its current location.
Fortunately the power company allowed the meter to remain in its current
location.  Regardless of the meter
location, the scope of work is the same.
1. Run new service cable from street attachment to meter location.  2. run new cable from meter location to
panel.  3. replace panel  4. install new meter.  The same amount of labor and materials are
required regardless of location.

The electrical work did fail
inspection.  The report states that the
electric cable between the main panel and the sub panel needed to be replaced
as it did not meet code.  This work was
contracted previously between the homeowner and separate contractor.  Evidently that work was done without a
permit, and therefore the inspector is requiring us to bring that up to
code.  We did need to cut a hole in the
ceiling to run the new electrical cables.
This hole has been repaired and wires covered accordingly at no charge
to the homeowners.

We have been available to the
homeowners to address any concerns and repairs/ modifications.  We have had limited access to make these
changes as we have had to work around the homeowners schedule.

MESSAGE FROM BUSINESS:
Taylor Construction Services has suggested a reduction in the scope of the project in the amount of $200 to compensate for the damaged alarm panel and the broken latch on the panel; it is our understanding that the customer feels this is fair.  We Did agree on the $200. for alarm covers missing from my alarm wires and the broken panel box.
We have confirmed by site visit that the service cable from the [redacted] meter to the point where it attaches to the connection from the street has been replaced. Taylor Construction did not replace cable from the [redacted] meter to the point where it attaches to the connection from the street. .My wife and I just spoke with [redacted] Employee ([redacted]) on March 12 @ 6:15 pm, who stated that he drove pass the house, but he did not stop because he didn't see any vehicles in the yard, but these guys are telling the Revdex.com that they confirmed by site visit that this work is complete. We are always climbing the latter in this location to change light bulbs on the house, and we are 100% sure that this is the same wire that was already here. Anybody can clearly see this wire is worn, and haven't been replaced.
The service cable from the meter to the new panel has also been replaced as well as the 2 interior panels. The Sub-Panel Box was connected to old wiring that was already in the house.
Since we did not replace the cable between the main panel and the sub panel our inspection was rejected. The connection between the two panel boxes is not complete. We understand that Taylor Construction has agreed to replace the cable between the main panel and the sub panel, but the inspector said they should not have connected the New Sub-Panel to old wiring. We have advised the customer that we will replace the cable at no charge to them.  We have also let the customer know that we will be more than happy to replace the heat pump with the 13 seer unit thew requested at no charge to them, or, we will let them keep the existing 15 seer unit at less than half the upgraded cost.  We are just waiting to hear from the customer at this point and would encourage them to contact us via phone to help expedite this resolution.
