Written estimate was not honored when I tried to schedule the work. They said it would be $900 more. I was within the 30 day estimate window.I drove 50 miles on 8/4/14 to meet their rep, [redacted] at an Amherst address to get an estimate on putting in a driveway. He was not there at the agreed time. I had to call to get him to come out. He ultimately arrived and I gave him a scaled drawing of what I wanted which included a double parking space near the carport. He gave me a handwritten estimate of $4.477 to put in the driveway with a new base and a fabric barrier. I questioned the handwritten estimate but he said it was perfectly good and if I wanted to proceed just contact the company within 30 days. I called back on 8/29/14 to order the work and was informed by Mr [redacted] that the price was now $5,380 because he had made a mistake on the original estimate. My time and work on getting and verifying the estimate was wasted. I then tried to contact the owner of the business, [redacted], about this issue. I called 4 times over the next two weeks. He has still not returned my calls. I feel he should honor his original estimate after I put in the time and expense to get it or at least compensate me for my time and expense.Desired SettlementI would like Taylor Davis Landscaping to honor their original estimate of $4,477 to install the driveway that I described to their representative on 8/4/14 or compensate me for the time used and the expenses I incurred in getting it.
