Taylor guitars are a scam. Those precious bolt on necks are always needing re-sets. They are just always needing a re-set and unless you are the original owner, it is impossible to get Taylor to sell you the shims needed. This is the scam part and besides, Taylor guitars don't sound very good when compared to a decent guitar. They don't care about the customer unless you just bought a guitar from them. After that they become firewood. Unless you are willing to shell out several hundred dollars every couple years to get your guitar neck re-set. Buy a real guitar like a Martin, Guild or even a good Chinese copy because you will be much happier with it.
Thank you for sharing the customer's response to our proposal. We believe our limited warranty is far above average for consumer products, as it is stated in our initial response. While we hope for an amicable resolve to this situation, we are denying the customer's request for Taylor Guitars to cover all shipping costs and/or upgrade his guitar for freeInstead, we remain willing to meet him halfway and go beyond the terms of our limited warranty by covering the costs of shipping the guitar back to the customer after making repairs.Sincerely, [redacted] ***Taylor Guitars Customer Service Manager
Pure lies. I bought a 2019 used Taylor and right away the neck needed a re-set. I didn't ask for anything for free but did ask if they would sell me shims so I could do it myself since it is supposed to be so 'easy'. Taylor does not care about guitarists. They care about money. The bolt on necks are always needing a re-set and they have you over a barrel by either forcing you to spend hundreds every couple years to pay some clown to do the re-set. I will never buy another Taylor guitar and not just because of the scam they run, but because they don't even sound good compared to real higher end guitars and part of that is the neck problems. Buy a Martin, Guild, Alvaez etc... and save your money and frustration with these scammers.

All BS. You only care about making a sell. Why do you hold on to parts needed to re-set necks? That warranty bs is old and an excuse to bilk the customers forever. Screw your bolt on necks and screw Taylor guitars.
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I reject the companies response because I feel it is an undue burden for me to have to pay shipping Shipping a guitar is not cheap Regardless of what they write in their warranty info A standup company should make it right since they sold a defective product not to mention the inconvenienc this has caused me.The guitar is defective I would gladly take it to a repair center but the closest one is 3hrs away Thats two trips one to drop it off and another to pickup once repaired A finger joint neck is a cheap manufacturing decision in the first place Defective design and defective craftsmanship or in this case lack thereof

a longer term than the average product warranty (it applies for so long as the guitar is owned by the original purchase), it does have some limitations and conditions. His guitar does have an issue that our warranty covers and we have offered to have a replacement neck installed on his guitar at no charge to him, subject to other terms of the limited warranty. This warranty work can be performed by a local Taylor certified tech, or he can ship the guitar to our factory. In other words it is a scam. Why won't you sell someone the parts they need to repair a guitar if the customer is not the original buyer? It is to keep setting necks for hundreds of dollars and it should be against the law to withhold parts . Taylor guitars are always needing the neck re-set every couple years or so. You are milking the very people who have kept you in business and all for the mighty buck. Taylor guitars are ok, but not when compared to a real set neck guitar like a Martin, Gibson, Guild, Chinese guitar even. You are ruining your base by not helping them. I will never waste my money on a flawed company like Taylor.
