I am sorry for the delay in responding to this however we were just out to your home and the technician had not checked in his orders yetUpon review of the call you had requested service on 9/30/and we responded on 9/30/We diagnosed the issue and made recommendations for repairs
After recommending the repairs the technician was told to inspect the heat exchanger to make sure that the equipment was safe and that the repair could be made safelyUpon inspection of the heat exchanger we found it to be cracked and unsafeAt that point we offered to get one of our energy consultants out to quote a new unit. Had the customer called us we would have had our service manager recheck the technicians workOf course there would have been no charge for that service.
The fact that someone would actually go in and repair the equipment and turn it back on when it is unsafe to operate concerns me and should concern youI am offering to send our service manager out at this point to verify the safety of the equipmentAT NO CHARGE!! He would even be happy to meet your other contractor there to determine the validity of our findings.
You were billed and paid $plus $ tax for a total of $not $I do not feel that a refund is warranted based upon the fact that you found someone to do the job cheaperCheap is not always the way to go and this is one of those times
Yes it is true that Mr *** called us to replace the vent pipe, however at no time did Mr *** tell our customer service representative that the furnace was not vented to code and was a definite safety issueWhen our technician saw this he wanted to check and make sure that the furnace was
safe before we recommended putting money int the ventingAs Mr *** said all he wanted was the pipe replacedSince that could not be done to code and created an unsafe situation we decided to walk away from the jobWe could not assume the liability of doing what Mr *** asked us to do.
There was no charge to Mr *** for this or any other service, If he wants to make an unsafe repair we are not the company for him
