Taylor Motors Inc. Reviews (4)

I would like to give you a brief summary of facts. To the best of my knowledge Taylor Motors, Inchas attempted on several occasions with a variety of different offers to Mr*** in an attempt to make our very valuable customer whole. In doing so Mr*** has been disgruntle
and not cooperative, we have had to turn this case over to our insurance company for settlement. To the best of my knowledge that is where it is. We would hope that Sentry Insurance and Mr*** would be able to negotiate a fair and equitable resolve. Taylor Motors, Incposition has always been to make our customers and their repairs / experiences with us a wonderful and pleasant experience. We do apologize for any inconveniences or trouble this has caused our customer. Sincerely, TAYLOR MOTORS, INC. *** ***

I am rejecting this response because: while it is true they offered to negotiate with me. They refused to provide me with a rental car while my truck was to be worked on. Also they offered me 2500$ for my truck which is worth at least 8000$. I brought them a working vehicle with clean title and was forced to either lease a new truck from them or have them repair with a salvaged title.  My original offer to them was refused and I was told it's not their fault since my truck had a "fatigued" frame. I am very grateful that they provided me a rental truck to replace my truck while on was on vacation. Even though this was provided, all I was asking for is a clean title on my truck with proper repairs or the "value" of my truck. Mrs [redacted] attempted to negotiate with my mother who explained my stance on the situation. Mrs. [redacted] then attempted to negotiate the 2500$ payoff with me in which I refused as well being that my truck had a clean title and no bent frame. Disgruntled is not the word to describe me. I am shocked that a "reputable" business would skew the facts and leave the consumer feeing like the bad guy. I want what's fair. No more, no less. I have been without my personal truck since July 22nd. This has only brought hardships on my family since we only have one vehicle now. Something I feel Taylor Motors could care less about. I hope to resolve this unfortunate business disaster.[redacted]

Review: SALVAGED/REFURBISHED PARTS REPRESENTED AS NEW FROM FACTORY:Taylor Motors (the dealership for my GM vehicle) gave me a quote for a part for my car (a powertrain control module) - they described the problem as "the computer is broken and you need a new one". I was quoted a price of over $400 for the module and 3 hours labor. I was assured that the factory part would be shipped overnight from their warehouse and installed the next day. Two days later the part was installed and I collected my vehicle. Without discussing the situation with me or disclosing that they had used salvaged and refurbished parts - they sent me to pay at the window. Only after the clerk handed me the bill and requested the payment did I note on the bill that the parts were salvage/refurbished. It was my understanding when they quoted me the $430.00 for the module that is would be new, not a used part from the salvage yard. At no time did the manager, dealership, or service department representative let me know that they were looking around for salvage parts and did not have parts to support their product available. I believe they were attempting to take advantage of me by installing a salvaged part and representing as new.Desired Settlement: I request that the part be replaced with a new part. I believe I was grossly overcharged for the refurbished part and they put in my car without my knowledge.

Review: This is a complaint against Taylor motors Inc., of 2525 Churn Creek Rd., Redding, CA 96002. Taylor motors Inc. are the local GM and Cadillac dealer in Redding. Towards the end of the December 2013 I took my car to Taylor motors for repair as the car was leaking coolant. They ran a diagnostic test and told me that the coolant is leaking from a blown cylinder head gasket and that it needs to be repaired. I requested them to send me an estimate for the repair. The estimated cost of repair was quoted at $3750.07. I agreed and gave them the car to repair. While the car was in the repair shop, Taylor motor called me that they had the engine dismantled and found that the repair would cost on thousand dollar more over the estimated cost of $3750.07. I was told "that without this extra $1000 the car cannot be repaired". I told them that "since you give me no choice go ahead and repair the car". After the repair the final bill was $5232.23. Out of the $4902.47 for changing the cylinder head gasket and $329.76 for the brake job. I paid the final invoice which was the $1152.40 more than the original estimate submitted. After the repair while driving I noticed that the service engine light was coming on so I took the car back to Taylor motors and told them the problem. They ran another diagnostic and told me that "one side of the engine is running leaner than the other side and that's why the service engine light is coming on". They told me that it should be fixed otherwise all that good work that they have done would be ruined. So they went ahead and fixed it but charged me another $358.31. I tried to argue with them that :When they ran the original diagnostic the engine was not running leaner on one side then as it is doing now after the repair so there has to be some fault in the repair, so they should fix it without any extra charge". But they did not listen. So I had to go ahead and pay that extra $358.31. I feel that Taylor motors have charged me $1510.71 more than they should have. This is the difference in the amount. between the original estimated quote and the final payment after the repair. Quoting a lower estimate and then charging $1500 more over that original is certainly not the right thing to do. And this is exactly what Taylor motors have done. I hope Revdex.com would do something to resolve this issue and reprimand Taylor motors Inc. to prevent this kind of practice by them in future.Desired Settlement: I feel that Taylor motors have charged me $1510.71 more than they should have.

As per last letter the original estimate was $3750.00 for head gaskets to be fixed line "A" During repairs we also found that after tear down of engine we found worn out parts that included timing chain and guides, tensioners, water pump, front motor mount, oil sender, also A/C line found leaking at time of repairs that needed to be replaced and also approved by customer on 2/10 at 3pm total $4812.93 When all repairs were done during road test we also found that rear brakes were noisy and during inspection found rear brakes were metal to metal. Phone call made 2/13 at 4:20 for approval of rear brakes. At that time increased estimate to $5344.51 Brakes $329.00 When you review repair order there are additional $1400.00 in parts alone with sensors and timing chain parts and A/C lines with $175.00 for tax and also repairs to sun roof When return for engine light came on after repairs cause by Mass Air Flow Sensor The code for that sensor was never in system upon first repair so we would of never looked for that concern.
