From: *** *** ***] Sent: Monday, May 08, 3:PMTo: *** *** ***>Cc: ***Subject: Re: Revdex.com complaint ID***I just noted there was an additional reply from the contractor at the bottom of this email. We never said we didn't want to spend any more moneyIf we didn't, then why would we hire another contractor as you indicated below. There were never any "upgrades"Tell me, was engineering demanding appropriate support for the upper level deck an upgrade? Or a mistakeBecause when you approached me you sure seemed like the error had been yoursThe fact that your son underestimated the job is not an upgrade. The estimate to finish and repair the work far exceeds the amount we are requesting. You told me in front of my husband that you couldn't fund the job if we didn't pay you the final payment up frontYou had been asking me for more money since the week after I wrote you a 25k checkYou also told me you paid the kitchen cabinet person 25,Then "about 9000" neither of these amounts are true or accurateThe HVAC person came to the door last week and reported he hadn't been paid at allWe simply want the sub contractors paid and our materials delivered to our homeOr a refund equal to that amountWe haven't run out of money or equityWe have definitely run out of patience with your double talk and lies. Don't shame me when you know the truth of the situation

There was no misunderstandingThere was simply no communicationWe were never offered to have Kenny complete the work nor offered a new proposal They simply would not take or return our calls or messages The steps were certainly implied as they painted the sides and risers in anticipation of the retreadsThere has been no contact on the part of the business to tell us they would do it or that it was not included in the original proposalWith no communication and the untruthful response to the Revdex.com we choose not to do any further business with this company

I did contact you and was told you didn't want to spend anymore money. There is still $54,000 owed on a signed proposal, but I never at anytime said the total amount had to be paid before the work would be completed. This situation went from me being told you were  getting a line of credit to you firing me. So if anyone was cheated out of money it was my company. It's not fair that you are blaming me and my son because you ran out of money or changed your mind on the amount you wanted to spend. My son and I did nothing but what was requested by you. You signed off on the architecture's plan and you requested ALL change of work orders. Which as I have explained before, through off the pay schedule. We never did any work or asked for any money that was not signed off on by you before the work was started. As I stated before the majority of the work that's been completed has passed inspection by the City of Grove City. Your own father (who used to build houses I might add) complemented the work and said everything looked great. So I don't think it's a coincidence you are now trying to get me to refund almost the same amount that's still owed on the job to give to another contractor to finish. Taylor Renovations has done hundreds of remodels and additions  with very satisfied home owners. So to say we don't know what we are doing is a lie. And lastly, I have nothing but respect for what you do with your foster handicap children, but to bring them in to this disagreement in my opinion is just wrong. You may have started the addition for your children but all of the changes and upgrades (plank wood ceiling, a deck outside of the master bedroom, and custom handmade cabinets) was all for your benefit.

We agreed to upgrades and prices. But Dennis documented money spent for materials and has yet to produce the materials. He documented he spent 25 k on cabinets and the cabinet maker provided a receipt for 3400$. We dismissed the contractor because he could not complete the job without final payment before the work was done. Contract indicated work was to be completed prior to final payment in addition to him not being truthful about having materials for our job in his shop. Where's the flooring?  Why is the cabinet maker unpaid?  You came to me for another 10k almost immediately after I gave you 25 k. You verbally told me and your son provided a job break down indicating cabinet maker was paid 25k. Total job came in at just under 210k. We made no changes in our original request. The contractor failed to listen to what we wanted when he provided the original lovwer estimate. The bottom line is this contractor essentially stopped doing any work and was holding us hostage for final payment ahead of completion and said he could not fund the project if we didn't pay him. He has been paid 154k of 210k job. Payment was to be in thirds. We are way ahead of schedule on payment and he would not or couldn't not finish the work without being paid all of the contract amount ahead of schedule. Also 20k for a roof was added because he put the wrong kind of roofing in the estimate and the engineer would not sign off until corrected. We want our materials and we want the subcontractor cabinet man paid what you said you said you paid him. You have soaked this job for money and time by your incompetence and lack of ability to manage the project.

Again, we apologize for any misunderstandings. We remodeled her basement. Afterwards, she ordered treads for her steps. Originally, she wanted Kenny, a guy on our crew, to do the work. But when he couldn't do it, she came back to us. We offered to give her a proposal to do it. She said she didn't...

want a proposal, she said it was included in her contract on the basement. We explained that treads were not in the original contract. We agree that we told her we could do it, but we disagree that we meant we would do it free. It can't be free. It would take a couple of guys a couple of days to do the work. Her husband is aware that treads were not in the original contract. We are happy to give her a proposal for the treads. She just needs to let us know that she would like an estimate, and we will provide it. Thank you.

The original estimate was approximately 155k and increased to 209k only because of home owners numerous changes. All change of work orders were signed by home owners. Home owner stated work done was substandard and some must be redone. Most of the work completed including framing, electric,...

plumbing, insulation, drywall and fencing was all permitted and passed inspection by the City of Grove City. Two to three weeks ago I spoke to home owners about going into the final phase of addition and was told they were going to get a line of credit on properties they own to finish paying. Last week I stopped by to speak with them again and was fired from the job. I was told and I quote "get your st and get out, my husband and father-n-law will finish the job.
