Review: brother used my name and info for reverence. I don't know where brother is; quit bothering me. they continue through mail and calls to harass me!

my brother, [redacted], gave this business, taylor road storage, my name, address and phone # as a reverence. I did not give him my permission. I have received phone calls and mail from this business and repeatedly told them I do NOT know where my brother is and to take my name OFF their information. They say they will, and yet it continues. as a senior citizen I find that this is harassment and want them to stop. I live my life differently from my brother and need them to stop harassing me! they will NOT stop!! HELP me. Please!Desired Settlement: stop calling me and stop sending mail to my address!!

Initial Business Response

In response to the consumer's complaint we received 11/12/13 we would like to hereby notify you that we comply with the California Self Storage Act. The act requires that when we rent a unit the tenant is required to supply an alternate name and address for the purpose of being able to send out notices such as pre-lien and lien notices (this is required by law).

We have notified the tenant that he must come to our office and supply us with a different name and address for an alternate contact (as required by law). We will be in an awkward situation if the tenant refuses to provide us with a different alternate contact due to the fact that the law requires us to send out notices to an alternate address.

We have informed our onsite managers to no longer make courtesy phone calls to [redacted]. We may have to continue to send written notices to [redacted] due to the fact that she is the alternate contact for this tenant at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused her. It is unfortunate her brother used her name and information on the contract as his alternate, and we are trying our hardest to get this issue resolved.

I except this as long as the phone calls to my home stop as stated and as long as the company understands that any mail I receive at this address I will not open and will "return to sender". as long as they understand that, I will consider the issue closed.
