Tazewell Used Furniture Reviews (3)

Review: On 8-19-15 a contract was received from Tazewell Moving Company to move our household furniture and goods on 8-24-15 for a fee of $1500. On 8-19-15 a deposit of $750 was made. On 8-24-15 Tazewell Moving Company arrived at our residence in [redacted] and began loading. As they were working the movers realized they did not have blankets or tools and the consumer went and purchased a small toolkit for them to use. Upon delivery it was noticed that several pieces were damaged. At this time the consumer contacted David Hess, CEO of Tazewell Moving Company. Upon hearing about the damages Mr. Hess said to not pay the remaining $750 and send him a list of damages. On 8-26-15 Mr. Hess was sent a list of damages which he acknowledged on 8-27-15; he questioned why he did not have a contract. The consumer called him and explained that a contract was printed, signed, and offered to the employees and they said they would get it later. Throughout the course of the day it was forgotten and they did not collect it before leaving. The consumer spoke to with the CEO and mutually agreed upon submitting a claim to Tazewell Moving Companys insurance company for $3800. On 9-9-15 the consumer received an email from [redacted] stating that the claim would not be paid due to the lack of contract. Mr. [redacted] then stated that per the contract, the $750 had to be paid in order to consider any payment for damages, despite what Mr. Hess had said. Mr. [redacted] also stated that they would not be paying for damages because they were not liable for damage to laminate, however, our bedroom suit and antique were not laminate. During this process it was also discovered that Tazewell Moving Company carries a property carrier non-bulk license with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. Per the DMV a moving company with a property carrier non-bulk license can transport household goods only if the goods are delivered to a place that is less than 31 road-miles from the place where you picked them up." Our items were moved 115 miles.Desired Settlement: We would like this matter to be resolved by the company providing a way for us to replace our damaged bedroom suit with the same pieces and providing a way for us to fix the damaged antique.

We have never had a customer by the name of [redacted], however a individual with he same name has tried to extort this company on two or more occasions. We have filled initial police reports on this individual and are expecting a subpoena to appear before the grand jury any day now in reference to this offenseby this individual. We expect to have a arrest warrant issued on him for these actions in the near future for this illegal act.

I have proof of receipts proving my wife, [redacted] and I put a deposite on services with this company. The only criminal acts done here are carried out by Tazewell movers and it's owner David Hess. Illegally moving my furniture knowing his company did not have the proper license. My wife and I attempted to contact David Hess to resolve the matter in a professional mannor. At which point lie after lie was fabricated by David in what seemed a last ditch effort to try and get his way out of a fixing what his company broke. We request tazewell moving company make this right so we all can move on with our lifes.

Like a child throwing a tantrum to get there way.....We again state that we have never had a [redacted] as a cutomerHe should be formally charged on or about Novermber 17th 2015 before the grand jury with two counts of extortion

David Hess, you state I was not a customer but in fact my signature is on the contract along with my wifes. Also it was your company that came to my house to move my furniture. Not to mention the receipt I have stating otherwise as well. You should really check to see what the license you carried at the time you moved my furniture entitles. Per the DMV ( which will be conducting their own investigation) you legally could not have moved my furniture. Extortion? I think not. You should really look up the definition. I also fear you may not understand how the court system works. How can I be charged in front of a grand jury when I haven't even been notified to appear in court. The law is not made for you to be fabricated and bend at your own will. Furthermore, you made no attempt to fix my furniture. You made no attempt to make things right. I can only assume you did not turn my claim into your insurance. I simply don't understand what you expect when your company shows up lacking the tools and the proper equipment to protect my investments. It's bad practice to tell a customer one thing only to go back on your word.

Uniforms, that’s a joke, unless it’s teenagers wearing shorts and t-shirts. Professionalism and honesty is a lie. The worst possible experience a person can have. If you want all new furniture this is the person to contact!

Review: Bought dryer on 7/16. Sales person recommended that certain dryer. Supposed to be delivered on 7/17. Never showed up. Called next day first thing and the owner said he had no record of dryer being bought. Would call back in a minute NEVER called back. We had to call back and leave over 5 messages. Finally called back on Sunday and said that they would deliver it on Monday morning. Called back again and said all they had was a gas dryer and no electric. We bought an electric dryer. So I put him on hold to ask spouse if they wanted a green dryer. Owner hung up on me for putting him on hold. Was very rude when I called back. To apologize cause I thought I accidentally hung up on him and to say we wanted the more expensive dryer. Argued with me and said I would get a refund in 10 daysDesired Settlement: Just please let ppl know how horrible this business is please

The person spoke with my husband and said we would have a refund in 10 business days on our card. When that did not happen we were told he was wanting our address to mail a check my husband offered to go and pick it up and was told no. We waited on that for over 5 days when that show up we filed a dispute with our card company. Still no refund and Almost a month later.

[redacted] & [redacted]
