BEWARE! This contractor does not pay his sub contractors. TC Builders has carried a 7,000 balance with us for longer than 9 months with no contact. [redacted] refuses to respond to any form of contact including attempts from our lawyer.

I am rejecting this response because: Mr. C[redacted] is a liar. I do not appreciate his false statements. Mr. C[redacted] was well aware of the many complaints that I had with his work. Any time I tried to explain my concerns or question his work he would become erratic and tell me "he has 40 years experience and that I don't know what I'm talking about" or how the "price would go up" when I was just asking him to do what was originally promised. Mr C[redacted] was well aware that we had a very tight budget for this project and used that against us by constantly threatening to charge us moe if we questioned his work. Mr C[redacted] was rude to other members of my family, when they would try to express the concerns I had with the job not being done properly, he got in a full argument with them and became belligerent. He did not complete any of the work he did in my bathroom correctly which will cause me to have to hire another contractor to come and fix the mess he has left me with, I do not want Mr. C[redacted] back in my home especially after my last conversation with him, he was rude and so erratic with me that my husband actually had to ask him to leave our property or be removed. He acted completely unprofessional and that is not the type of person I want in my home around my children. I also do not appreciate Mr. C[redacted]'s statement that this is "a ploy to not pay". I do not believe I should have to pay for a job that was not done correctly, nor do I believe I should pay for a job that I will have to pay someone else to fix. I believe that Mr C[redacted] is a man that preys on young couples and tries to scare and intimidate them into letting him do awful work with no repercussions. This man is not a professional.

Review: In June, I contacted [redacted] to put two porches on my home and the total amount for $20,000 dollars. I gave [redacted] a deposit of $5,000 dollars, and he cashed it the same day. After nine to ten days without any word of what was going on, I decided to contact the company to see what was going on. I contacted [redacted] and there was no reply to my emails at first. When I informed him I was going to the City of Dover to find out why it was taking so long I was told the permit was put in as well as the materials was order. I went to the City and asked about the permit after three to four weeks gone by with nothing happening. I was told no permit was admitted. I called [redacted] and his reply was that he was sick and as soon as he was better he would fix the problems. The contract was for the deposit/materials after signing the contract then the next $5,000 when they stated, the next when they put the roof on and then when they finished. After signing the contract, he then got sick and his license in Dover expired. He informed me that they would fix everything and to give him time. I gave him time but between emails and a phone call, I was lied to even if not intended. After going back and forth I finally demanded to return my money and my survey and we'll void the contract. I was told he did not have the money any more and he did not have my materials either. I finally informed [redacted] that I will be contacting my attorney. With my attorney advice I tried to give him plenty of times to either do the job he was hired for or give me back my money. From June 18 after cashing my check till September we have tried with nothing being done. Now we're looking to use the legal system to get my money back. I believe this company should not be backed by Revdex.com and they should get a bad rating too. As for my survey land, he informed me that he lost this and needed another one at which point, I told him if he met me in front of the City of Dover I would be happy to go in with him to apply for the permit together. No reply was ever given.Desired Settlement: Refund money and a bad review of company.
