Review: I purchased a new home in March 2013 from Blenheim Homes. The homeowner is instructed to contact the electrical contractor, TC Electric, for all service appointments directly. My understanding is that TC Electric corrects their construction errors. TC Electric came to the home on May 17 to install a circuit breaker for the air conditioner when it was missed at settlement. The dining room light is not centered in the tray ceiling and this type of issue has been corrected in my neighbor’s home.

A service appointment initiated by the Blenheim Site Supervisor for the light on August 29, was set for Sept 26, 2013 at 8AM-12PM. When I contacted the TC Electric office on the scheduled appointment date when the technician was late, I was informed that they will not center the light, but would fix the other electrical issues. It is my understanding that when the technician left my home, he talked to the Blenheim Site Supervisor and they agreed to center the light. I did not feel comfortable that the technician was authorized to offer that service and its related warranties after the surprising discussion with the office earlier and declined the offer that afternoon when the technician returned to my home. I expected the service offer to be extended by the company at a later appointment date based on the technician’s assessment of the current light placement.

When [redacted] of TC Electric responded to my complaint on Oct 8 about the chaotic handling of the service appointment, she indicated that if the Site Supervisor authorizes work, it gets completed. On Oct 9, [redacted] sent an email with an unsolicited price quote for the service to center the light. TC Electric now asserts that they have installed the light per plan and will move the light for the service fee of $125. The rationale for the decision supplied by [redacted] at the TC Electric office changes with each conversation. My request to TC Electric to resolve the issue by verifying the placement of the light vs the installation plan has been refused.Desired Settlement: TC Electric to provide objective information on the installation plan of the light. If installed in error, honor policy to move free of charge. If installed per plan, offer a discounted service for my inconvenirnce in this matter.

This situation has bee completed. We moved the fixture per the builder. This home was purchased as a spec model and we were instructed by the builder not to move it as it was sold as is.

When the builder agreed we tried to move it for her and she declined. We did go back and take care of the situation.
