I just had TC Hafford install their system August 15, 2019. We received a heavy rain storm August 18, 2019. Just 3 days after installation. Well basement after leakage the same. Paid $2700 for installation. Wouldn't recommend using them. Very unresponsive. All the installation technician wanted was immediate payment. Now I know why. Get the money and run. Even though contract states 30 days to pay.

I am making this complaint regarding a bill I received from TC [redacted] for $520. I was absolutely surprised to receive this invoice given that I had previously written a letter on April 5, 2013 to [redacted], president of the company.

We had our basement waterproofed only two years ago (and it was not cheap!). We noticed that a beeping sound kept sounding on the sump pump. Therefore, we called out TC [redacted]. The technician said that the switch just need to be flipped. We had already done this before to stop the sound. However, the technician said that that was the only problem.

In my letter dated April 5, 2013, I mentioned that we noticed water accumulating in various areas of the basement. I included photos with that letter. Two boxes of things I had left in the basement were absolutely ruined! I was under the impression that the basement would remain fully dry : something made clear in TC [redacted]'s YouTube videos! The boxes had photo albums and some sentimental belongings. These are completely irreplaceable!

All this damage could have been completely avoided if the initial technician we had called out had done their job properly and not just flipped the switch. What also surprises me is that the second technician had such a different diagnosis to the first. Again, water shouldn’t have pooled in our basement and this could have been entirely avoided if the first technician diagnosed the battery and pump issue which the second technician noticed.

The alarm went off again and a technician came to our property on May 28th. He now said that the outlet the pump was plugged into was not adequate. This was the same technician that did the second service call. What completely baffles me is that during neither of the two previous service calls was the outlet even mentioned! In other words, TC [redacted] should have during the first service call fixed everything and notified us that the outlet the pump was plugged into was not adequate.
