TCP made the 12 compact Fluorescent flood lights in my new home. They are said to last 8000 hrs. 2 have burned out after <3000 hrs. TCP won't replace
I bought a brand new home in October 2012. It came equipped with 12 TCP ceiling compact fluorescent flood lamps, model 33116R30. The box they come in says that they last 8000 hours. Two burned out in about a quarter of that time. I called TCP. They sent me a form to fill out which, among other information requested, asked for the SKU or part number. I called back to ask what that meant and they had me read the number from the bulb. They then said that I had to contact the builder of the home. I contacted the builder and they said to contact the electrical installer. I did that and they said to contact the bulb manufacturer, so I got the complete runaround. Nobody wants to take responsibility. I wrote a detailed letter to the company and their response was to mail it back to me with the identical form that they had sent the first time.
These bulbs cost about $10.00 each in two hardware stores where I was able to locate them. Home Depot did not carry them (as was suggested by the TCP company.
