Td auto finance are the worst. ***. Customer service is the absolute worst, ***, never doing what they say.

They access you account and take money without authorization. They take it whenever they like.

I am on a fixed income at the moment like many of us due to the pandemic but do they care? NO!!! They are hypocrites

I admit my payments are sometimes late and I make arrangements with them. They still try to width-draw monies from my bank Account ( an account I gave them a one time permission to take a payment- big mistake) causing a $48 NSF charge each time. If I had the money I would not make payment arrangements. But they continue to do it. You call them and they say it is the "computer" and they can't change it ***.

They don't even have permission access my account. As I make my payments at a branch.

Worst loan experience of my life. They need to be governed. They can do what like and blame you for it

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
No, as I have not received any documentation or contact from them as of yet. I have also been sent letters from TD that were inaccurate. However, as it shows a response july 07 I will wait a few more days to see if anything else comes as the bank may owe me money. Thanks.

Customer Response • Aug 20, 2020

Between correspondence the TD bank has resolved the matter with us in letter form and deleted the funds they claimed owing thanks to all who helped in this matter

Sincerely

I have repeatedly tried to contact TD regarding my autoloan. I financed through the dealership in 2017, and HAVE NOT to this day ever received any loan documents from TD, no yearly loan statements despite repeated attempts to obtain same, the automatic line says "they are experiencing higher than normal call volumes. Please call again" and now due to COVID-19, the message just says "they have reached their maximum of number calls, call again" All I'm trying to get is my loan number, and the servicing branch number so I can self manage my account online.

I do not have access to the TD bank in my community, and I did try to call a branch to see if they can access that information, and they said I would need to make an appointment, drive 2 hours, (all during COVID-19 crisis) present two types of ID, just to get my loan number.

Posted my payoff to the wrong account. Debited my bank for another month of my car payment, then took 1.5 months to mail me a check. Very unfriendly customer service.

I had bought at 2010 *** in 2014. Less than a year left on payment. They took a payment out this weekend by accident and they admitted that and now I can't access that money until this week when my bank decides to return it plus overdraft and NSF fees. I said I needed my money for food and needed it resolved as it was TD's mistake and then nothing was done about it after talking to the agent who spoke to her supervisor.

Desired Outcome

I need my money returned so I can no die. I didn't make the mistake.

Both my *** and ***
I've had my td auto finance loan for over 17 months and never late once. Td auto finance then stopped payment from my account and now my account is 31 days past late. I found out on Canada day my account was 30 days past late by *** a credit monitoring website. I called td after the long weekend payed the amount in full on the following business day. I asked why my payment didnt come out from my account,They said the account information is wrong. They been taking payments out from the same account since I signed my loan over a year ago. Now td auto finance wont fix the 30 days past late on my credit beauru. *** I want td auto finance to fix there mistake and adjust the 30 days late report on my credit.

Desired Outcome

I want td auto finance to fix there mistake and adjust the 30 days late report on my credit.

In May of 2019 I was $1998.00 dollars behind in auto loan payments. On June 8th I had made arrangements to make a $832.50 payment and another $638.75 on June 25th payment to gain 2 payment deferrals and be completely caught up in payments as I was told by a representative I would receive as promised if I make these extra payments to get caught up. Then on July 4th I was told I had to add another $60.00 to my regular payment witch was made on July 09, a total of $483.76 and at the point I was granted my 2 payment deferrals. Then for several days after they where phoning me 3 times a day then didn't take out a regular scheduled payment until I spoke with a representative and she took the payment out of $438.75. Then again around August 6th calling me
Several times a day, I answered the phone August 12th they didn't take out a payment and stated I'm $638.75 in arrears and didn't take out a regular payment. So then again I arrange for her to take out my regular payment $438.75 and now I'm only $200.00 dollars in arrears. So I also agreed for her to split that $200.00 in arrears for a payment of $538.75 to
Come out August 19th. Now what happened is they took out that $538.75 as agreed , but they also took out an additional $146.25 + $438.75. As of August 19th they have taken out a total of $1123.75. Now I have asked them to refund me when I called them back on August 20th the amounts I did not authorize them to take. Also they are now saying I'm in arrears $196.00 when I have called back on August 23rd as well as August 26th asking them where my refunds are cause I am still waiting.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking for a resolution of to stop being *** as I have to work and then calling me 3-4 times a day. I don't believe that I am in arrears from back in June and I feel there is some miss calculations there. I was promised Those payment deferrals and was granted them but for some reason I'm still always in arrears and effecting my credit. Also that extra money that they took out on August 20th was a part of my rent money. I was promised I would receive my refunds back by August 23rd. It is now August 29th and I still have not received that refund as promised. I wish for someone to go back on my files and get back to me as to why I'm always in arrears . Even when they just took out $1123.75 dollars on August 20th and I'm still $196.00 in arrears when I call them .

Hi ***,I'm writing to advise we have resolved this customer concern.Thank you, ustomer Relations Manager, Business Management (Governance) Customer Assistance (Business Management & Strategic Support) TD Bank Group ***@TD.com

I have fallen behind in my car payments and have tried to work and make arrangement with them. I made a payment of $1200 in April or May which took away from my other bills. I made a payment arrangement for August 16th stated that I can make regular payments of $250.00 bi-weekly for now because I need funds to buy groceries, pay for the hydro, pay for my medication, pay for my phone, and pay for other bills. I stated to the representative once I get my other bills under control I will then increase in my payments she stated that it was fine. ***. I've been struggling financially and I can not pay $1900 all at once. The representative understood my situation and noted it so that I do not go into collection. A few days later I soon realized that they *** seized my account. They are not authorized to my account as I make payments online banking. I called them about the matter and they were very *** and *** to me. They threaten me that they are going to take away my vehicle. They forcing me to pay $1100 which I do not have. ***. ***. I informed them that I made an arrangement with the previous representative that I would make my regular payments for now but I can increase payments starting ending September early October. They were very ***, and cold to me despite my efforts in trying to clear up this bill. I just returned back to work and I've struggling severely.

Desired Outcome

I would like for them to allow me to increase my payments starting in October. I will not have $1100 by this Friday August 31, 2019.

Every since I purchased my vehicle the company of TD auto has phoned me 4 times daily in regarding my vehicle payments. I signed a contract saying I'll be making payments every 2 weeks.
Therefore they still get a hold of my everyday seeing if I'm making a payment on the set day asked. They also sending me letter asking if I'm making payments. I don't answer there calls they leave me voicemails or the proceed to call me with a unknown number or a different number for me to answer the call.
I'm getting *** every day for the calls from this bank. Customer service is ***. I've spoke to management in regards to this concern they told me they would stop calling. The following day they phone again. I ask them if they have any records of me talking to management and they said no records.
They are lacking there job of documenting and *** clients.

Desired Outcome

To not be phoning everyday. To knowledge the fact I have signed a contract to make payments every 2 week.. for the company to stop *** me.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We are in contact with this person with a view to ascertaining all relevant facts and addressing their specific concerns.

December fourteenth my 2017 *** was totalled in a car accident. An insurance claim was filed and I received a check on the 8th of January for 35,626.50 for the worth of my vehicle at the time it was purchased. The vehicle had a loan balance of 24,994.50which would mean I would receive a portion of 10,632.00.

To avoid any delay in receiving my portion of the money I called all tree parties involved which meant the TD Auto Finance to make them aware of the balanc soon to be paid in full, *** to let them know my bank will be calling to verify the check and of course the bank I bank with .

On the 9th of January the payment owing on the loan for the vehicle was paid in full. The remaining balance was issued to me once my bank verified with TD AUTO FINANCE that 1.) the loan had been paid in full and 2.) it was then ok since the loan had been paid to release the money back to me. WEEKS later on the 21st of January TD Auto Finance took out of my account 2903.69 out of an older checking account they no longer were given permission to debit funds from, and then went into the account they had been debit funds from when he loan WAS active and withdrew 286 twice for a total of 572.00, altogether the. Withdrew a total of 3,475.69. They did this with out any permission or warning. When I called to find out what the *** happened and to demand my money back they responded that the cash department would have been responsible and that department can not be reachable by phone. That I have o wait 48 hours to here back from a supervisor. So TDAF *** $3,475.69 from my account and I have to wait 48 hours to receive and explanation and when I can get my MONEY BACK? To make matters worse I call back on the following day just to hear that the supervisor may call me today(23/01/2019) or tomorrow.

Desired Outcome

My resolution would be for th money *** from me amounted to $3475.69 returned asap

Thank you,

*** BBA l Business Resource Officer I Cares Officer (TD Auto Finance) I TD Bank Group

They are a nightmare to get any information from and despite what they say they don't help you at all. In trying to get my loan paid off, I paid online like I have literally every single time. Normally it takes one day to go through. That last payment took 6 days. Why 6 days, you ask? Well on that 6th day my monthly payment went through automatically. I was not informed at all that I paid them an extra $400, and if not for checking my bank account I would have never known. I called them and demanded my money back and they said it would take a month to get my money. ***. A loan which I only have because my dealership got it and I (***) didn't check up on the company before accepting. I won't ever make that mistake again. From the bottom of my heart, ***.

For the last 4 years, my auto loan payments have always come out of my account on the 5th of every month with no issues. I have never had so much as a late payment. My car was written off at the beginning of February, and I received a cheque from my insurance company on February 6th. My bank was unable to cash the cheque, as my insurance company included TD Auto finance along with my name on the cheque. On Wednesday, February 7th at 3pm, I went to my local TD branch and asked if they were able to do anything with the cheque. The teller asked for the manager, as they had never done this type of transaction before. The manager came over and deposited the cheque assuring me that once the payoff for the loan went through, the remainder would be bounced back into the account that my payments usually come out of - within three business days. My other option would be to get my insurance company to write a new cheque, with only my name on it... I figured that might take a week, so I opted for my 3-day wait instead.

On Tuesday, February 13th, I was tired of paying for my rental, and ready to make my purchase for a new car. Unfortunately, my remaining $9,200 had still not shown in my account. At this point, I called TD again, and asked about it. The customer service rep let me know that the loan had been paid in full on February 9th (two-days after I put the cheque in), and that there was a remaining $9,200 that should show in my account within 10 days after the payment date of February 9th. So I put the down payment on my credit card, and figured I would put the money onto the card when I received it around February 19th.

I figured since I paid the loan off on the February 7th, Wednesday, and it went through on the 9th - Friday, that should have counted as day 1, so 10 days later would be no later than February 19th (Monday). The 19th came and went, and I figured I would give it until the afternoon on Tuesday, February 20th. The money still did not show - So I called TD back. At this point, the customer service rep said it was set to be transferred out of TD on February 22nd. WTF? I'm like, this is really odd... But I'm a patient person. So I'm like, I guess I will just pay my credit card off on the 23rd, when it is sure to go into my account. So here we are, sitting at 10AM on February 23rd. And I still HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY MONEY! So I call my bank, to ensure they are not holding the money or anything - they confirmed there is nothing pending. So I call TD again, losing it. And now they say my money was transferred out at noon yesterday. At. ***. Noon. You planned the whole time, to transfer my money back to me, one day short of TWO weeks after my loan was paid off in full. Today is two weeks, and I STILL don't see the money. We will see if I get the money before the weekend.

Like I'm sorry TD, but this *** is so unacceptable. What would you do if my payments were not made on time? How much would you charge me? Say I was like, hmm, I can't make my car payment this week - but in ten days you SHOULD have your money - Maybe. Let me tell you - you would NOT find that acceptable. So how come it is acceptable for you to mess around with my money? How come it's acceptable for you to hold onto MY MONEY for TWO WEEKS before deciding it can NOW get transferred back into my account where it belongs? My loan was paid in full on February 9th, two days after deposit - I find that fair. Fair for me would have been TD then transferring my remaining money, to my bank at *** within the next week (and I feel like giving you a week with MY money after my loan is paid off, is being SUPER generous).

Complaint against TD Auto Finance and ***

Complaint against: *** Resource Officer *** (TD Auto Finance) ***
***

Dear Revdex.com:

Earlier this year, I had launched a complaint against TD Auto Finance when that company improperly seized my vehicle and sold it to an auction company.

Thanks to the diligence of the Revdex.com, ***, *** (TD Auto Finance) ***
Phone # *** / fax # ***, promptly contacted me with an apology and immediately rectified the situation.

Unfortunately, TD Auto Finance/ *** is once again engaging in the exact same negative business pattern that led the corporation to improperly seizing my car back in January. Which is: TD Auto Finance continually "misplaces" my regular payments which puts my account in arrears. By the time that they "locate" my payments, they force me to make arrangements to bring my account up to date!

This happened once again this October and I had to make arrangements with a TD Auto Finance manager named ***, who ensured me that he would handle this recurring situation.

However, this has not been the case. *** advised me yesterday that all of my auto payments over the last two months have mistakenly been allocated to another client's account! Which has once again put my account into arrears!

How could this be? It was *** who provided the account numbers required to make the payments at a *** branch.

TD Auto Finance/ *** have acted irresponsibly and unethically since the inception of this loan. I am asking that The Revdex.com please advocate on my behalf. I work extremely hard every day to ensure that I am paying my bills on time and to have *** treat me this way is simply unacceptable.

Thank you for your help

Desired Outcome

I want TD Auto Finance/*** to transfer this loan to another banking institution. I do not want anything else to do with this company. I also want TD Auto Finance/*** to repair any damage that they may done to my credit rating.

TD Auto Finance Response

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We have contacted our customer and will make it our priority to correct this issue and make it right. Please have the customer contact us directly should there be further concerns.

Customer Response • Jan 05, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)TD Auto Finance did send a letter advising that they notified the Credit Bureau to reverse any negative credit information that TD forwarded due to their errors. But *** still has not discharged this loan as per my request. Until that is done this issue remains unresolved. Regards Mrs.

To whom it may concern my name is *** I recently purchased a vehicle thru td auto fiance. I fell behind in my car payments after having hip surgery in jan I recently went back to work slowly doing 4 hrs a day now at 6 hrs a day. I have been giving td money as quickly as possible I can provide receipts if required. I also would like a detailed copy of the long term payment plan that Heather Stacey talked to me about after calling me. I received a letter telling me to make arrangement by sep 21 by 4pm to avoid any action I called and spoke to heather Stacey where she indicated that a long term arrangement would be in place until I could get some more deferrals.
But every time they call they threaten me to take my car instead of trying to work with me thru this situation. I feel I cant concentrate on getting up to 8 hrs when td is also calling me 3 or 4 times a day to stress me out.

Desired Outcome

i would like a billing adjustment and a explanation of the charges.I also would like td to explain to me why when i received that phone call about the insurance why i was denied also to put the arrears in the back end of the loan and start me off again fresh due to my injury. Also to change the bad reporting to the credit bureau because i feel that by td not offering me that insurance i would not be in this situation. finally i would like all correspondence to me in writing.

TD Auto Finance Response

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We have contacted our customer and the issue has now been satisfactorily resolved. Please have the customer contact us directly should there by further concerns.

Customer Response

I am not happy with there response. They did reach out to me but I want to be reassured that they are willing to work with me and be patient with myself catching on my payments given the nature of my surgery. Also that they are not trying to take my car because I am trying. Would it be possible to have something of that nature in writing please thanks Mr ***.

I bank with ***; my last car was financed through TD Auto Finance three years ago. During those three years, I have virtually no interaction with TD Auto Finance, except when there were two instances when I was going to have to make a late payment (still well under 30 days) and in both cases they were informed in advance.

Vehicle: 2010 *** Limited. Semi-monthly payments of $251.53 CAD 70 payments made, then vehicle buyout.

In late June of 2017, I began the process of negotiating the buyout of the old loan and the refinancing for a newer car, through loan brokers; we were originally going to go with TD Auto Finance as they were going to give us a rate of 7.9 percent...

July 5 2017: TD Auto Finance tells both credit bureaus this lie: "never, ever made our loan payments on time and that we would only make a payment when forced to by collections"
July 21 2017: I provide TD Auto Finance my account records from my branch of *** that demonstrates over the three years all payments on time, except for two slows that were resolved in under thirty days.
August 8 2017: TD Auto Finance states:
"To date, you have made 70 payments and your account is in good standing...
Past Due History (30/60/90) .................0/0/0 "

This action by TD Auto Finance directly impacted my current car loan and resulted in my having to pay a much higher rate of interest. My current finance company does confirm that the claim of never paying on time was reported on July 5th to the credit bureaus, but they will neither confirm nor deny that that misinformation was reported by TD Auto Finance. TD Auto Finance refuses to discuss or speak to the issue of their erroneous claim made of July 5th 2017.

They offered initially a $100.00 gift card as compensation. When I demanded compensation sufficient to what their action had/will cost me, their response was that I had two options: sue them to get access to their records or sue them for damages -- and that the TD Auto Finance head office is in the USA and both options would be governed under the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, and therefore would require me to hire a foreign lawyer to initiate any civil suit.

Last week, on September 5th I was in my branch on other business, and discovered that according to TD Auto Finance, no buyout of the former vehicle was made, and that they claim on my credit bureaus that I still owe them $17,000 CAD for the former vehicle. TD Auto Finance will not speak or discuss this issue either. My loan broker can provide the paperwork, if necessary, to prove that TD Auto Finance was paid the full amount owing on the former car.

Desired Outcome

Correction of two sets of misinformation reported by TD Auto Finance to the credit bureaus. An apology for their reporting of this misinformation to the credit bureaus. Compensation for the costs that I will incur -- much higher interest rate because of TD Auto Finance reporting of misinformation -- estimate between $1,500 - $2,000 CAD. Correction with *** (their parent company) regarding the $17,000 CAD TD Auto Finance claims that I still owe them.

TD Auto Finance Response

Hello,

TD Auto Finance has previously been in contact with the customer over this concern. We have followed our policies to their conclusion. As per our investigation, no documented proof of wrong doing was ever provided by the customer.

We have provided a senior management letter in conclusion of our investigation.

Customer Response

There was a family emergency that prevented me from making a timely reply. The case is NOT resolved. It will not be resolved, as TD Auto Finance has no interest in its resolution. I would still like to know why they claim that the buyout of the Hyundai was not made and that I continue to owe them $17,000 CAD.

I do not expect a response from TD Auto Finance, or any proper attempt to make any resolution in this matter.

Therefore, I would state that this case is CLOSED but due to the intransigent behaviour of TD Auto Finance, it is also UNRESOLVED.
