were installed over a concrete subfloor using an adhesive made for installing engineered floors over concrete subfloors, the product was Bostik's BestOne additional characteristic with this particular adhesive is that it also acts as a moisture barrier, which is very helpful with concrete subfloorsWith that being said the concrete subfloor was checked with a moisture meter designed for concrete for moisture levels exceeding the wood floor manufacturers specifications, everything was within the manufacturers limitationsAlong with a proper subfloor the floors were acclimated within the space to be installed for a minimum of two weeks as suggested by the manufacturer. More importantly, blistering of the floors and mold growth is definitely signs of moisture problemsA characteristic inherent with wood and moisture is mold and it doesn't take long for visible defects to appear; it's not uncommon to see signs within six monthsIn this case the signs were observed nearly four years later and far outside any typical workmanship warrantyIt is safe to say that within this four year period any number of problems could cause this, i.econdensation from an AC unit, ground water getting through a damaged vapor barrier, a slab leak from low grade copper pipe in the foundation. In my opinion it's easy to point the finger at the installer and it's unfortunate that this has happened to the customerIf I had to admit guilt for anything it would be my recent lack of communication with the customer after they contacted me about this issueAlthough I did visit there property twice, once to observe the damage and another visit to check the moisture level in the flooring, I should have followed up quicker with a plan of actionDue to excessive growth this year and lack of resources I was to busy concentrating on existing ongoing projects and this was definitely not a legit warranty
