RE: Complaint #***
Dear Online Complaint Management Team:
I would like to reject the response from the Teak Construction CompanyThey have only addressed one issue in my complaint and that is the Vinyl flooringWe have never refused service for repairing our floorsIt is true that I wanted all of the floors done as the adhesive for the floor is a defect either by the installer of the manufacturerHowever, I preferred to have mismatched flooring than damaged flooringThe contractors that were sent to do the work informed us that they could repair the floors and that the replacement flooring was of “lower quality”It was the contractor that made the suggestion, not us refusing service
Once we noticed that the repairing of the floor was inadequate and the bubbles could not be repaired we contacted Teak Construction to have the floors replacedAs you can imagine, it is not us “the owners” of the home that hire of fire the contractorsThey were instructed to do a job that they strayed fromWe are not Vinyl experts and had no way of knowing that the bubbles in the floor could be repairedIt was the contractor’s suggestionI believe this was the original plot by Teak Construction to reduce the cost of labor and attempt to repair and not replaceIt would have benefited them not us
Teak Construction continues to produce inadequate work and had showed so little pride in their propertiesThey are now attempting to use the same Vinyl that was not put in my bathrooms to replace the flooring in another area of the house due to a faulty installation of the Sump Pump in my basement
There are several poorly installed items, such as the bathroom tub, the sump pump, and other missing flooring and sealsWe have been treated with disrespect and this company has falsified statementsThey promised that they would come out and replace the flooring after we explained the failed repair attempt with the contractor and when we called to see why the work has not been completed, this story of us refusing service was conjured upBoth my husband and I have missed work believing repairs were going to be completed, only to have a person inspect our house, promise to make repairs and nothing be doneIt is my hope that this can be resolved outside of court, but at this rate it is clear Teak Construction/Blue Fern Development is willing to go to any length to save money and refuse to do the repairs we are entitled toThere is no purpose in having a Warranty if it is not going to be honored
Thank you for attempting to remedy this conflict
Sincerely,

Spoke with *** about remaining issues.
Sump pump: "we are working to resolve" Bathroom tub: "this is a result of a leak that happened before, this is why the vinyl bubbled"We are unsure what the consumer means by missing flooring and seals

TEAK Construction, LLC
I am responding to complaint #[redacted] on property located at [redacted] inAuburn. We agreed-to replace vinyl in master bath-under the-2-10 warranty butcouldn't match existing vinyl as it was no longer available. Homeowner was allowedto choose replacement vinyl from...

catalog of 49 available patterns. Homeownerrepeatedly requested for all vinyl in their home to be replaced so "they all have thesame vinyl". Homeowner was told the vinyl would be replaced only in the bathroomwith the warranty issues. We understand that homeowner was upset that theywould have two different types of vinyl in their home but warranty clearly statesthat builder is not responsible for discontinued patterns.
Homeowner selected vinyl and replacement was scheduled last April. Flooringcontractor's crew arrived to replace flooring but homeowner refused to have floorreplaced .. They instead chose to have contractor repair existing floor. Per flooringcontractor:"We were hired by Teak Construction to replace some vinyl in the master bathroom. My crew went out there with all the supplies needed to fix the job and thehomeowners would not allow us to do the job needed. Our installers, Juan andSimon, called a few times regarding the homeowner not allowing them to performthe work and were difficult to work with. They wanted us to attempt to fix theircurrent floor instead of replacing it We did what the homeowners asked and allowed us to do. This included going to a nearby store and buying different glue totry and rectify the vinyl currently installed."
Replacement vinyl could not be returned so we had to pay full cost to replace eventhough it was never installed. Homeowner contacted us again in July and said theynow want the bathroom floors replaced. We explained that this warranty item wasclosed since homeowner denied replacement as scheduled and that we had to payfor the vinyl even though it was never installed. We told homeowner that flooringcontractor was still holding the vinyl selected and that they could contact them tohave floors replaced at their cost.
We acted in good faith to complete the repairs as promised. Vinyl replacement wasscheduled and paid for but could not be completed per homeowner's request. Wefeel this warranty item is closed and hope our response to your inquiry closes thiscomplaint.
Sincerely,John P[redacted], CFO
