Background:
Team 1 Restoration was contracted by the homeowner to restore damage from a bedroom fire on 9.3.14. Team 1 Restoration after meeting with the insurance company's field adjuster and upon receiving an undisputed settlement on September 13, 2014 from the insured insurance company, started with the repairs to the home and contents. The undisputed settlement from the insurance company was incomplete and didn't reflect all of the damage sustained to the home. Taking into consideration the insured insistence that she be back into her house, Team 1 Restoration went forward with completing all of the necessary repairs to her home. The insureds insurance company was non responsive to the additional repairs and later demanded appraisal for the claim on September 17, 2014.
On October 29, 2014, the homeowner signed a notice of completion that all of the repairs were completed to her satisfaction. She then moved back to her home thereafter. There were a few warrantee items that needed to be addressed by some of the vendors involved in the claim. They are aware of the items and do not dispute that they need to be taken care of. They will address those items once the insurance company pays the appraisal award and their invoices are paid. Everyone is hoping that is forthcoming. All vendors have been cooperative with the situation and have been waiting for payment of their services since October of 2014. Team 1 Restoration has been in constant contact with the vendors, appraisers, and the homeowner throughout this ordeal.
On May 26, 2015, this office was notified by the appraisers that the appraisal award was signed and was being sent to the insurance company for payment. It was found through that process that the insurance company was grossly in ere of their initial settlement and that all that was done to the homeowners property was necessary to bring the property back to pre-loss condition. Therefore, all parties who are owed money for the restoration of the homeowner's property will be paid once the appraisal award is funded by the insurance company.
Resolve to complaint:
On May 26, 2015, this office received the Revdex.com complaint in the mail. I immediately contacted the homeowner. I again reviewed the entire claim and circumstances with her. I told her that once we get the appraisal award paperwork and checks for the appraisal settlement, that I would personally sit down with her and her friend, who assists her, and go over every detail on the claim. I told her that until that time, I would not be able to give her actual facts and numbers. I told her that I made the other vendors aware of the situation (which I have been doing on a bi-monthly basis since October 2014) and that they are still patiently waiting for their money.
The homeowner told me after my conversation with her on May 26th that I could report back to you, the Revdex.com, that the complaint is resolved.
