We did perform repair work on Mr***'s GMC truck
on 2/19/repair order
Our Master Technician diagnosed the repair based on DOC ID# ***The diagnosis led
to
the replacement of a faulty pressure switch in the transmissionAlong with this
switch, it is required to program the system to the latest calibration and
change filters that are taken out in order to access the switchThis switch was
causing reduced torque through the transmission control moduleIt was explained
to the customer over the phone that he would need to sign a waiver for high mileage
vehicles (see attached)The reason for the waiver is that due to high mileage there
are many factors unseen or undetectableIt is best for the customer to
replace the unit with a GM re-manufactured unitMr*** drove the vehicle miles after he picked up the vehicleHe also stated the issue started after pulling a heavy trailerWith the
switch repaired, the transmission now has full torque, test drives after the repair did
not show any issuesIt is hard to tell what is wrong at this point without any further diagnosticMr*** refused to approve any further diagnosisCombining the high mileage and the towing of a heavy
trailer many things are possible, again that’s why we have a waiver in place
We advised the customer to replace the assembly rather than completing any further repairs due to age and mileageIn the interest of customer
satisfaction, we offered the $of diagnosis/repair towards his next repairHe has refused

I am rejecting this response because: I was not advised of any non warrantied work done on my vehicle. Also was not told that this would not fix the problem. Also the vehicle was not driven 754 miles after it left team Chevrolet the first time.. Not sure where there getting this? I did bring the vehicle right back the next day and even the service guy said that team Chevrolet test drive it the whole next day?? Team cheverolet put the miles on it . I had not pulled a trailer at all before the problem happened again being that She only drove it five miles down the road. The problem persisted as soon as I drove the vehicle down Jake Alexander boulevard from leaving team Chevrolet. Also, why would team Chevrolet fix a problem with a transmission not knowing that this problem is the correct problem to fix? On top of all this, I've heard nothing but a bunch of lies from the crooks at team Chevrolet as I have spoke with Jose Avelar and the service manager repeatedly.. Many times with no return phone call on an update. The problem is not fixed, and it should be dealt with accordingly from team Chevrolet with no extra charges. I agree to pay parts to fix but in no means should I be paying labor for their wrong doing in the first place. NO TRANSMISSION IS ALL THE SUDDEN COMPLETELY NEEDING REPLACED WITHIN 5 miles of driving a vehicle and bringing it back.  After all this, I'm not sure if I would trust team chevrolet to work on my truck to fix the problem.. Haven't heard a positive word from one person I have talked to about team Chevrolet. Sounds to me they are not only parts-hanging on my vehicle but also parts-hanging on many others in town. I was reccommended to not go to team Chevrolet but I needed to take it to a CERTIFIED DEALERSHIP REPAIRSMAN. No excuses at all for a certified gmc mechanic to not know how to fix a problem right.

We recommend replacing the
transmission with a new one due to the mileage. We are willing to diagnose the
old one and give an estimate as to what is wrong currently. We may find the
need to repair another item found faulty but due to age and mileage it is
possible another item could fail after that repair/replacement. It would be in
his best interest to have a transmission with a warranty vs a transmission with
only a few parts under warranty. Again, based on age and mileage an internal
transmission repair is not recommended. Until the transmission is taken apart,
we have no way to give an estimate on a repair. Even after the labor required
to diagnose his concern, we are still willing to off $400 towards his repair.
