Review: Ordered a Diagnostic test on my 2001 gmc 2500hd for having transmission problems. Team chevrolet called a few days after and told me I needed to replace the transmission pressure switch and replace filter and fluids. Jose avelar, (one of the service techs) priced this fix at 714.00 total. I asked will this fix my problem for sure? Jose said, yes this will, so I had them start working on it. Few days later, a friend of mine drove the truck home from team chevrolet and said the problems were still persisting. I tested it out the next day once I arrived home from work and sure enough, the transmission was unfixed. I called Jose at team chevrolet to bring the truck back up there. He says they have to charge another Diagnostic fee and will let me know what the problem is.. All of a sudden the next day, Jose calls back and says the transmission is no good and they want to charge 4400.00 for a new one. So there went 714.00 of borrowed money to fix the truck right the first time.. When you take a vehicle to the dealership, The dealership guarantees it fixed.. That is what you pay the 120.00/hr mechanic fee for I imagine. I went into the service center and talked to jose the next day, he says well there is nothing we can do about it. The work was done and now says there is no warantee on our work.. This obviously esculated and soon the service manager was involved.. His only option was to take 400.00 off of his service center putting a new transmission in.. He was not worried at all. Said he would call back monday 3/9/2015 after speaking with the owner, but never did.Desired Settlement: Will settle for the labor, 420.00 refunded along with the parts taken off to replace.. I will take a loss on the other 300.00 for parts.

We did perform repair work on Mr. [redacted]'s 2001 GMC truck

on 2/19/15 repair order 370737.

Our Master Technician diagnosed the repair based on DOC ID# [redacted]. The diagnosis led

to the replacement of a faulty pressure switch in the transmission. Along with this

switch, it is required to program the system to the latest calibration and

change filters that are taken out in order to access the switch. This switch was

causing reduced torque through the transmission control module. It was explained

to the customer over the phone that he would need to sign a waiver for high mileage

vehicles (see attached). The reason for the waiver is that due to high mileage there

are many factors unseen or undetectable. It is best for the customer to

replace the unit with a GM re-manufactured unitMr. [redacted] drove the vehicle 774 miles after he picked up the vehicle. He also stated the issue started after pulling a heavy trailer. With the

switch repaired, the transmission now has full torque, test drives after the repair did

not show any issues. It is hard to tell what is wrong at this point without any further diagnostic. Mr. [redacted] refused to approve any further diagnosis. Combining the high mileage and the towing of a heavy

trailer many things are possible, again that’s why we have a waiver in place.

We advised the customer to replace the assembly rather than completing any further repairs due to age and mileage. In the interest of customer

satisfaction, we offered the $400 of diagnosis/repair towards his next repair. He has refused.
