I am writing in hopes that you may be able to help me get a refund and maybe even change the unfair practices that go on at TEC Equipment. I am an owner and operator of a trucking company in [redacted]. Recently I had to take my truck in to get repaired. On 10/20/2015 I was charged $1244.86. A week later, the same problem occurred and I had to take my truck back in. It was discovered that the repair had been done incorrectly, but before that was figured out, I was charged $1702.69 for what was only referred to as "troubleshooting". Now, I understand that before anything can be fixed the mechanic must do some troubleshooting to figure out the problem. However, I believe that if the repair was not done correctly the first time, why must I pay for that inexperienced mechanic to troubleshoot again? In fact, I believe that if the repair was done by an experienced mechanic, it would have been done correctly the first time.I think in any customer service position, if the service isn't done correctly the first time, there usually is not a charge the second time. I don't think it's fair to charge the customer for a job that was not done properly the first time. It seems like it is in TEC Equipment's best interest to have mechanics that don't know what their doing working there because then they are able to charge more money while they try and figure out what is wrong. I even asked the mechanic why he was troubleshooting for such a long time and he told me it was because they do not get training there.In this manner, I believe Vovlo cheats their customers. They spend hours "troubleshooting" and charge the customer for a job that wasn't done properly the first time. I am asking that $1702.69 be refunded to me.Desired SettlementI would like the second bill to be refunded.Business Response Thank You for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. It was difficult for us to track this down as there are no ref. #s. many times the individual name is not on the RO, only the business name. We did however track down this RO and find out that this work was down in our [redacted] Shop. Not in our [redacted] Shop which is who you have reached out to. Our service Mgr. in our [redacted] shop is aware of this issue and is working to resolve this with the customer. My Name and Phone # are printed on the face of every repair order that goes through our shop as a contact for any discussion a customer would like to have about our performance. We are proud of the service that we provide to the transportation community and are committed to providing the best service available in our area.
