Tecdepartment Reviews (2)

Review: I called the Co. on 5/16,5/17 & 5/18/14 about a problem with my computer. There was no answer. I had it repaired elsewhere. Their contract calls for a full refund if not satisfied with service by calling [redacted] in Customer service. Between 5/19/2014 & 6/3/14 I called 15 times at various times of the day and was told that [redacted] was not available and he would call me back. I was told that the call back would be in times varying between 10 and 40 minutes. The call has never come . The company represented themselves as being connected to Dell. When I called Dell they denied any knowledge of this company.Desired Settlement: I would like Tecdepartment to honor their written policy. I quote." If you have any complaints with our services or you are dissatisfied with our response please feel free to call and ask for cancellation. AS THE SERVICES ARE COMPLETELY REFUNDABLE."The cost of the contract was $ 499.99

Response:

Initially he called us in the month of October since he had some issues in his dell laptop which we took care of immediately and offered him a tech support subscription for 3 years by charging him $499.99.

Review: I had a virus on my computer in early October and contacted the Tecdepartment Company via their ###-###-#### phone number for technical assistance on 10/09/14 by leaving them a voice message. The person who returned my call identified himself as [redacted] the person who assisted me in September of 2013 when I initially contracted with Tecdepartment for 3 years of support.I allowed the person who returned my call, who knew all about my contract and the services I had previously received remote access to my home computer. They removed the virus, and then stated they needed to wipe my computer clean and re-install all operating systems. I was told that the new installation of Windows 7, Microsoft 2010, and upgraded AVG security/virus scan would be an additional charge, and would also extend my current contract with Tecdepartment for an additional year to 2017. I was instructed by the person who stated he was [redacted] to send a check to [redacted] (the Tecdepartment accountant) to the address of [redacted] for the services of; - AVG security system- Windows 7 Ultimate with Microsoft 2010 Professional Plus- An extension of my technical service contract on my PC of an additional year to extend coverage until October 2017. The work on my PC was not completed that night and No one contacted me further to install Microsoft 2010 on my PC. After several phone calls there were 2 attempts made to install Microsoft 2010 onto my PC which were both unsuccessful using Bit Torrent. When they were trying to install Microsoft 2010 onto my PC the screen clearly said that the Download was of Poor Health. I wrote a message on the screen for someone to call me, but no one contacted me. I continued to call the 800 phone number for assistance, but no one returned my calls. I then tried sending email replies to the email address ([email protected]) that was sent to my work email on the night that I had the computer problem, which contained the instructions that I needed to follow to start they system restore on my PC using the Command prompt.I have called the support phone number many times and left messages for someone to call me back and I have sent several emails asking for assistance to [email protected] & [email protected] I have paid for these services and I still do not have them and I am unhappy. I asked for a full refund of from the Tecdepartment Company in an email that I sent to them on 11/06/14 per the instructions on their website. I was contacted by a [redacted] Wilson who stated he was the Customer Service Manager on Sunday, November16th, and he said he would research the company call logs to try and see who I initially spoke with and what happened. He stated [redacted] was terminated from their company approximately 13 months ago. He stated that my home phone had been blocked so the Tecdepartment Company was unable to receive or return my calls to my home phone number. He stated that the Windows 7 and AVG security/virus scan applications that were installed on my PC were probably pirated so that is why they are not operating well and I have issues with my computer.[redacted] called me on Monday and stated he would call me that evening at approximately 5:30P and if he did not call me then he would call me on Tuesday at 05:30 AM. He did not call me and I am unable to get them via phone. I have also tried calling them from my work, it appears that someone answers the phone but you only hear a faint noise and then the phone is disconnected. In addition to not having the services above that I have paid for I also have the following problems and I need access to Microsoft 2010 Word, Excel, etc so that I can do the work that I need to do. We can no longer print from our PC, We were getting many updates every time we logged into our PC and it was very slow, so [redacted] removed the automatic updates and now we keep getting messages telling us to change the setting to allow automatic updates and asking us to backup our PC onto an external hard drive, I have messages on my PC asking us to take an AVG Web Tune Up to version 4.0, I have messages on my PC asking for us to add Windows Malicious software Removal Toolkit and to accept a license for this. When I call the ###-###-#### number most of the time I receive a busy signal at all hours of the day and evening. When I am able to leave a message no one has returned my calls and I have provided them with my home and cell phone numbers. No one has returned my emails. I have contacted my bank and since the check I sent was cashed they say they cannot assist me. I have a copy of the cancelled check if you would like to see it.My Comcast phone logs show that I was talking with a Skype user with the ID of sumit.lakra6 when I had my computer problems on 10/9/14.
