Review: On 8/**/13 I contacted my current virus protection, [redacted], to inform them of some issues with my computer. I was advised by [redacted], at [redacted], their protection was not effective for Trojans and they transferred me to a third party [redacted]. I spoke, with [redacted], at [redacted] who advised I could get unlimited software support including 24/7 help for router support, mo. clean-up, browser optimization and virus protection including Trojans. I signed up for 3 years, for 2 computers, at a cost of $799.96. Their website advised 'call us on ###-###-####' and 'managed 100% customer service guarantee'. The monthly clean-up service was used several times with no apparent problems. The first 2 weeks of Jan, 2014, I received several calls, from UI, inquiring about my computer's performance. There were no issues. [redacted], then [redacted] or [redacted], at [redacted] informed us they were receiving alerts regarding a "network breach and all of our personal information, banking etc, was at risk of being compromised." Recommended was the purchase of more virus protection, for more money. When I asked why I would need this, when I had already paid them, an explanation was not forthcoming. On 1/**/14 I called ** at ###-###-#### (I was unable to understand the man's name) and advised I needed to understand what was going on and I was unhappy with the service and wanted my money back. He told me he would have someone return my call. No call was returned. On 2/*/14 I received a call, from [redacted], notifying me, once again, they could not secure the IP address and there were issues. I advised him I was unhappy with the service, I felt they were upselling me and I wanted my money back. There were no issues. He said someone would call me no call was forthcoming. Of note today, 10/*/14 I received a call, from [redacted], at **, informing me, once again, our personal information was at risk. We d/c service, with **, in Jan. 2014 and had the computers checked. A Trojan virus was found on one computer which ** should have taken care of.Desired Settlement: Reimbursement of $567.44. This is a prorated amount of the remaining contract, after verbal request of a refund, dated January **, 2014.** technical services attempted, by extortion, to obtain charges for services they should have been providing. They did not return calls and attempted to upsell services.
