Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2017/05/12) */
Response attached please let me know if you don't get the attachment
I visited this property for the 1st time in March of Mrand Mrs*** were out of town so I met a family member at the residenceThe family member informed me
that the owners had plumbers at the home prior and that they felt the leak was a result of the tub drain and the tub would need to be replaced to resolve the problemI then sent one of our employees to the house and they concluded the sameI then created an estimate to replace the tub and the damaged flooring and submitted it to the Girardots and the insurance adjuster
Once approved, I met with Mr*** to go over our estimate and get his approval to begin the process of repairing the homeAs Mrs*** mentioned in her complaint, the repairs were completed in July of From July, to December we sent numerous invoices to attempt to collect the monies owed for the repairsWe had no response from the ***'s until they discovered the new leakMrs*** then contacted me and asked me to resolve the leak issue under warranty and I told her that I could not pursue her warranty until she paid her invoice for the original repairs
As a result, Mrs*** called in her paymentI then contacted *** *** *** (at my cost) to find the source of this new leakThey found that the water was the result of a Kitchen sink drain which is located on the opposite side of the wall from the bathtubThis explains the water being found in the same locationWe believe that the reason the *** are experiencing multiple problems with leaks is that the drain lines are original to the home and are copperOver the years copper used for drain lines has a tendency to corrode which is why most drain lines are either plastic or metal
Following our original repair work the ***'s did not find a leak until December, six months laterIt is difficult to comprehend that our repairs would not leak for months and then suddenly begin leakingIn addition, American leak Detection, whom we sent to investigate, verified that the new leak was from a different source but happened to be in the same wall cavity
We understand that the fact that a new leak has developed in the same area is frustrating for the Girardots but we also are certain that it is completely unrelated to our repairs
Sincerely,
*** ***
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2017/05/22) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The only "pipes" discussed during this process were the ones connecting the shower head and controlsWhich is where you diagnosed the original leak, not the drain you reference aboveThe "drain" was never discussed as a possible cause until AFTER the leak came backIsn't it odd the leak is coming from the same exact location? You should stand by your warranty and acknowledge you did not correct the problem in the first placeShame on you and your business practices
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2017/05/26) */
Initially, when I visited the property, I was told by the person I met there, that other plumbers had been there and determined the problem to be with the tub/shower drainWhen my plumber replaced the shower and hooked everything back up, there was no sign of leaksWe believe the problem was rectifiedFrom the information that I have received, the leak took nearly months to developIf we had not repaired the original source, you would've found the leak quicklyPlease look over the estimate that was provided to youNowhere in the estimate is there a charge to diagnose leakThis work was done prior to our company being involved
The warranty is for items we replaceThis is why we sent a 3rd party to investigate and find the source of the leak in DecemberHe concluded that this leak was a result of a Kitchen drain pipeHad it been from the tub/shower, we would be able to honor the warrantyIf new information arises, please let us know, we do stand behind the work that we do

I am rejecting this response because:
 Reject :
I refute some of the points by Paul Davis in their
response.
1.     As of
2/21/18, I have received no documentation that the lien has been removed.
2.     While
I appreciate the $1000.00 credit on the electrician’s invoice, my electrician
had additional extra charges.
a.     Repair
wiring pinched by new metal lining : $240.00
b.     Install
new Data Lines : $349.00
c.     Install
thermostat wiring : $562.00
                                               (   SMK
Electric installed low voltage; it should have been line voltage)

3.     I did
not ask Paul Davis to submit a waiver of lien. They already had a lien in
place. What I asked for was a final lien release from their suppliers and
subcontractors indicating they had been paid in full. They indicated they had
written contracts in place with suppliers/subcontractors to support that, but I
have seen nothing from them to document that.

Results:
1.     Written
Documentation of lien removal by Paul Davis
2.     Extra
charges from my electrician  (see above)
3.     Documentation
of a signed no lien agreement with their subcontractors/suppliers
4.     Correction
of invoicing showing credits for all work they did not do

We were not happy with this company from the beginning. They took their time, when they did get get started some of the workers were very unprofessional, even brought children and girlfriends to the work site, and allowed the child on the roof. The packers made promises about my belongings that they did not keep. After they had packed out I went in my one bed room and store room to find my grandmothers christmas orniments in the garbage!!!!! The builders were good when they were here and put in a full days work. When we did get our belongings back. there were so many things we did not get back at all!! That they had some how lost. Some precious childhood objects that were not even supposed to be messed with I did not get back, my wedding dress I did not get back. They are poor and are not professional at all and I would not recommend to anyone!!!!
