Review: It appears this company is trolling on the web and uses scare tactics to get consumers to purchase "protection". My son was at home on his computer and a pop up window appeared on his screen that someone was trying to hack into his computer and that he should call Technocity's phone number to get help. He was then told that they would have to take control of his computer to install software to stop the hacker. They proceeded and showed him a screen with coding and told him the hacker was still getting into his computer and they could help protect his computer he had 2 options- 1 time protection for $249.99 or a year for $499.99 During this highly stressful phone call a contract was sent and my son signed it. When I returned home he was very upset and told me what had happened. We called the credit card company to dispute the charges. My son then called his computer makers support people and they advised that what was installed on his computer was not necessary and we requested that the software be removed so Technocity would no longer be able to access his computer if they were the ones trying to hack his computer. A few days later a representative from Technocity called by son and agreed to reduce the charge to the one time service fee of $249.99. On 8-27-15 I called Technocity and spoke to [redacted] to see if a full refund would be granted. I shared with him that I didn't feel it was a good business practice to take advantage of people with their high pressure/high stress sales practices. He said that a contract was signed. I agreed that it was, but that my son was pressured into the sale. I let [redacted] know that I would be contacting your agency if a full refund was not granted. He said he would check with their billing department to see if they could refund the remaining fee and that I should call back on 8-28-15. I called on 8-28-15 to speak to him and was told that the refund would not be processed and that Sebastian was in a meeting and I could not speak directly to him.Desired Settlement: While this company granted a partial refund - I am seeking a full refund.
