The customer, *** ***, came into our office with a computer that would not turn onThere were several things that could have caused this, however as I diagnosed the computer it was evident that the power supply was the issueI replace the power supply with a used power supply to
test the ComputerI verified the specifications to ensure that the amount of power needed by the computer did not exceed the power supply’s limitThe used power supply worked and the computer was able to bootI informed *** that I was able to get the computer to turn on, but that the power supply that we installed was not newThe customer was happy to buy the power supply for $We excluded our Diagnostic Fee of $and just charged her the Hourly rate of $for replacing the power supply since she agreed on the used one.The customer returned the next day with the same issue as beforeThe computer would not turn onI then told the customer that we had other used power supplies that we could use for testingAfter testing multiple used power supply units, we found that the motherboard was the cause of the problem due to blown/swollen capacitorsSince the computer was several years outside of its warranty, we explained that it would be a good idea and less expensive to upgrade to a new computer. Since we do not sell computers, we have no motive to harm her computerWe did however take the time to research costs for a new computer for her and give her some alternatives, all online, with no association to us I would adWe then charged *** for an additional diagnostic fee for the time it took to test multiple power supply units and refunded the charge for the original power supply unitWe did not refund the time it took for labor from the first trip to TechResource. *** did not file any complaint with usI was unaware of this dissatisfied customerHer research into blown capacitors are incorrect when it comes to computer motherboardsThe blown/swollen capacitors happen over years of use as I have seen these numerous timesWe did use the term “blown”, but if you were to look at the capacitors they are actually swollen and not technically blown, but “blown” is a common term to useSwollen capacitors on motherboards can cause all types of strange behaviors including not powering on.I would be willing to refund the second $diagnostic fee since we didn’t see the blown/swollen capacitors because the power supply worked when we installed it, and the computer did turn on and functioned normally.I am not willing to help her purchase a new computer since the one she brought in was at least to years in oldWe had no fault in her motherboards blown/swollen capacitors.I wish she would have talked to me first as I’m sure we could have avoided this official confrontation and attempting to slander TechResource’s good reputation.The above is the response I gave before to the Attorney General, below is new today.This is the second complaint she has filedThe first was to the ATTORNEY GENERAL's office and she has already requested the refund of $20, for which I have here for her and that I did agree on, so why file yet another complaint after we agreed on a resolution?I may also file a legal complaint as this is turning into harassment and wasting valuable time on my partShe has no real basis for her complaint as it is impossible to “blow capacitors” by putting too much power into the computerI could have put a WATT power supply (times more power than the current one) on that computer and it would not have caused any damage what so everLet’s explore for a minute a reason why we would purposefully damage her computerSince we don’t sell computers there is no motive for usWhy would we take time out of our busy day to show her multiple options where she can buy online a new computer and help her with the specifications on what to buy to get the most out of her money?????If we are such a disreputable company why do we help our community with turning out trained internships, and giving so much volunteer work to nonprofit organizations like VOA or children’s village or Family Resources to name a fewWe have so many happy customers, I’m not going to let her ruin our contribution to the community with her slanderWe offer such excellent technical skills and customer service to the public for an inexpensive costI’m going to continue to do soIf she was to compare the work we did for her to going to any other store I can guarantee you the cost would have been higher, without ANY type of refund.If you need any else from me just let me know.Dave G***TechResource LLCOwner/[email protected]://spokanetechresou... a faster response please [email protected] what you can, with what you have, where you are

I am rejecting this response because: It would be nice if the owner got his facts straightI did talk to the owner about my concerns with being charged twice for a diagnostic feeHis response was that's the way it is, nothing he would do about it. I filed the compliant with the Revdex.com and the Attorney General on the same dayThe response time from the Revdex.com is nothing I can regulateIf you look at the dates they are the same. I did not file another compliant after the Attorney General response. Yes, he has said he would refund me the $However, he refuses to mail to meAfter several insulting and threatening e-mails from him, I will not go into his shop to pick up this check and subject myself to more bullying from him. Thank you for your help on this matterIt is too bad that this is how his company deals with situations like this.
