Original service provider requested to fix pc and I was then hacked and held ransom then fixed by this new company for thousands of dollars.
Got a call at 2PM on 1/7/19 from my service provider named *** to fix some technical issue. Told him that everything was running fine however he gave me the credentials and the id# and let him fix the pc. This was the first time since I was hacked in September of 2018 I heard from him and this contact was set up for pc security protection. Gave me a contract back in September of 2018 for lifetime service which cost $1000. He goes on explaining why he needed to fix pc and was originally blocked himself from getting in. Ran a file to make me deactivate my hosts. Then I received an control number so he could work on it. Then I saw all my icons disappearing all the security being removed icons showing my bank was hacked and internet was hacked. Erased all his contact notes left on in September then started to go to Facebook and typed he was setting up a illegal porn site. Then saw porn images on screen then pop window writing I was stupid in a vulgar way though and wanted $35,000 to go away. Also stated that I had 10 minutes to let him know and even if I shut down he still could still work on my pc illegally. Then 2 minutes later same contact guy calls back and wants to know why I am removing all the security from my pc? Then when on to scold me for letting this happen and explained to me the fix for this would cost $40,000 however I only needed to pay the sales tax discounted from $40,000. Also claimed I needed all this super security because this hacker took all the original security out and I needed better protection. All this was happening while his hacker is still working taking my computer and all Personal information, so I just told him too fix it. 5 minutes later another tech took control and put everything back like new. however I then received the price for this fix which was $16,000 which had to paid by check in 2 instalments $8,000 each. Will be sending a UPS label to send it. Also have to call him two times every 15 days to check if the pc is working correctly. for 2 months. I cannot overwrite this service due to a block on system and the techs there need permission to deactivate so I can take my pc elsewhere. If they do take away all this security still stuck in their network. So I have no alternative for pc help except them and if they do re-enter to make a fix I could be re hacked again. Also tried to contact a outside company to fix it and they could not log in due to the blocking mechanism I need this company which I never heard of to either take back the security protection and allow a new pc service to overwrite them without having another hacking. Fought with them for 3 hours getting nowhere and they wanted to send me a free pc already protected. The contact was a new person called Alex Warren and Tom Anderson. The original contact who started this was removed by Alex but still works there. Scared on what to do. For they will be harassing me for this money and they do have Personal information and might hack in my bank account. The account number is ***
Activation Date 01/07/19 Rep number (310)299-0934 and 1-866-503-4399

Desired Outcome

I need to have this expensive protection removed from my pc and leave a firewall and protection for computer. And allow me to overwrite this service. I also need this company to not call me or e-mail me about this bill. I need this to happen without any retaliation by another hacker once they do resolve this. Lastly I need to know if my first contract with these tech people is still valid for future service because the contact who called me was from *** now works for Tecnilogos

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It was already known that I did not pay any money to this company. My complaint was the emotional; and perpetual harassment for services rendered for insane amounts of money they wanted from a third party company working for them. To this day still receiving harassment calls and threatening voicemails to re-hack my computer along with vulgar language.I need this company to stop calling me and also need their third party people too also stop calling me on a service which was initiated by them to fix a hacking created and started by them.

IN RESPONSE TO Revdex.com COMPLAINT CASE NO:***

To Whom It May Concern:

This response is in reference to the complaint by the customer, ***.

Firstly, we would like to state that Tecnilogos has been in good standing with our customers for the past few years. Our aim is to maintain excellent service and meeting the expectations of our customers.

The customer, ***, agreed to a contract for security protection in late 2018. We have representatives carry out routine checks on the systems to ensure a smooth operation for our customers.
On this occasion, we found out that the customer had removed the initial security we had placed in their system which made their pc vulnerable to hackers and indeed was hacked. We tried to fix the issue and cleaned the pc.

We explained the necessity for a firewall to be installed to avoid such a situation from repeating, however, the customer declined the services. We have refrained from contacting the customer.

Tecnilogos strives to keep our customers satisfied and uphold the values of our company.

Thank you for your understanding

Sincerely,

Customer Representative

They refuse to refund $ 100 that I paid them for computer service, which turned out to be a scam.
This "business" called me by phone , telling me I had a problem that needed attention or my computer would crash. I was skeptical, but they assured me this was legit. They wanted me to send money to someplace . not their company. I told them my bank was not open at that time of day, so after much haggling, they said I should send them a check at this address. I did and it cleared my bank on 11/05/18. I wrote the check on 10/26/18. When I realized it was a scam, I called them, and they have hung up on me twice.

Desired Outcome

I want my $100 refunded because this was a scam.

This company claiming to work for Microsoft,
illegaly scaming people, demending payment from
bank account.
on October 23,2018 at about 3:00pm, a men called
to my cellphone and said that he is working for
Microsoft Corp. and they need to check our computer
for virus and they will install virus protection.
It was my mistake to let him inside my computer.
In 5-10 min our computer was full of porno images.
Also they demend $32000. I did know what to do,
suddenly phone call with the same voice (indian
accent) saying that they can help us to fix our
problem, it will take 1-2 hours. They cleaned
the computer from porno images and start demending
money- started with $900, then lowered to $799,
and then to $500. They said it needs to be bank
check. They send us a Fedex label. Next day
I sent them a check by Fedex, but later we
suspect that this is a fraud and we stopped this
check. Then, they started calling our home phone
about payment, and when we said it's too much
money, they were agree on $300.

Desired Outcome

We want this company to stop calling us and bother us.

We would like to state we never informed the client that we worked for Microsoft, rather we stated that we are able to assist with Antivirius Compatible for Microsoft Windows.
We received the check from this customer, however the customer made us aware that he is not willing to pay and nor will he require the security software/antivirus. We stopped the check and didn't charge him. We haven't contacted him since then.

Regards

Pressure to obtain security service from them, talked for a long time, showed possible hackers, scared me. sent a check for $7,999.99.

Spent over an hour convincing that I needed their service - they proceeded to change my computer, and I had difficulty making the computer work, back on for another two hours, still had problems.
Was supposed to pay another $300 on a CVS Google card. Was warned by the service people that this might be a scam, especially for old (80 yrs)people. I went home and called Affinity Plus and told them of my problem (they agreed) and cancelled the 7504 check. Now I cannot revert my computer to an earlier time - Aug 23, and it could not be reverted. They still have access to my computer and expect they will retaliate financially or destructively. I never wanted this service.

Desired Outcome

Remove the changes they made to my computer, allow me to revert to an earlier date before they contacted me. Prevent them from contacting me again. I can block them on the phone, but not the computer that they changed so they have complete access to my files, records, pictures, etc. They should not be able to scare old people into a reckless expense that we cannot afford.

This is a regards to the complaint from ***. We reached out to the client to fix her device since she explained she had an issue with it and we fixed the problem. The customer changed her mind on using our services and cancelled her payment, so we have deactivated the security installation on the device which we installed. Furthermore, we no longer have access to her device.

Scammers! Avoid any contact.

On 4 May 2018, about 1515hrs, I received a telephone call on my cellphone from a person from this company request my monthly computer maintenance that is required each month, from which I paid a sum of $450.00 on 01Feb2018, for the "Lifetime Network/Software Support & Security" on my Desktop Computer. I informed the person(male) that I was in a store call back in one hour when I am home. The caller called about 1610 hrs, gave me my customer ID#, I was told live help was under repair, gave me the website, He was able to control my computer. All of a sudden the desktop Icons 90% disappeared and the Icon on the Bank, Telephone etc showed "Hacked". I did not have an Icon on my Bank or Telephone. I hung up on the person because he refused to explain the actions. I called the # given to me in Feb2018, and was told I had to pay $1600.00 to get my computer back to normal with a new Security Company. I also saw a popup of a notation that stated, "You must pay me $35,000 or I will leave you with nothing in your bank account, Credit cards and Social Security # will be used". The message rapidly disappeared quickly. I was nervous and mailed a check for $1600.00. The same people kept calling me from the exact #, That inform me I was hacked by the first caller and the same # that another ask for the money. I do not know why people try to con other people. Then on 5May2018, I turned my computer on a person named Peter was already on my computer. I called the # again, and spoke to a Tanya and Eddie about this guy on my computer, without my letting him on(permission). He got off quickly. How is that possible, if I have to give access to my computer. I was constantly being told I should not let anyone have access without the ID#, yet I was given the ID# to let the person on my computer. Plus the person kept referring to the letter posted on my desktop by Alex with my ID# ICON.
Product_Or_Service: Computer Security Co-Tecnilogo

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I notified the bank to stop payment on check if I am not too late stopping payment. If I can't get my funds returned to me, for inappropriate misconduct and behavior on conceit/lying, then I would like this viewed by all. I do not want anyone else conned by this company.

I really don't know if this belongs under Billing or Collections. There should be a selection for Fraud or Hacking of Personal Computer. I was called by who I thought was my Tech provider ***. He advised me he needed to update my computer. I told him I had just updated windows 10 and *** and my computer was fine. He said he had to make sure the software was working correctly. I hesitantly turned on my computer and internet. It was not even 10 mins later my computer was hacked by Anonymous and the dark web. My phone rang not even 5 minutes later asking what I had done. I said nothing, that *** needed to see if my virus protection was running correctly. I just told him I wanted it fixed. They were asking for a $45,000 ransome and flooded my computer with ***. This was children under the age of 12. I was sickened. *** Senior Manager that in order to fix my computer that he would have to send it to a third party tech. This was Tech Peninsula. I was so upset I said I just want it fixed. He said in order to do this it would be $1599.00. I said I don't have that kind of money. He said to fill out the form which included my name and address. I said I don't even know what bank to use, he put in xxxx and said when I knew to call him back. I never signed or gave an electronic signature or authorization. Once the call was over. My computer was working in 5 minutes. I called the Federal Trades Commissions and told them what happened. I also called the IRS, Revdex.com and my Banks. The FTC told me that there were too many Techs involved and that I was being hacked again. I said I haven't paid anything and he told me not to. The IRS along with my Banks said not to pay the fee. It was fraud and my computer had been hacked. I spoke to my bank again today told them to be on alert and that I would be filing a police report for cyber computer hacking. I have *** and they were the ones who actually fixed my computer and said they will never call me about my computer.

Desired Outcome

No further contact by the busi These guys are all working together to hack computers and then charge huge fees to repair. Do not call me, do not email me, do not ask for payment, because my computer was repaired by my virus protection provider ***. Do not send me anything in the mail by usps.

Customer Response • Jan 22, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I have never heard of Tech Peninsula until January 3, 2018. After this scam I was told not not to pay, by my local sherriff's department. I don't believe a word this business says. I have my own Virus Protection Program. If I'm on their account it is another scam. Like they day, no more communication with them now or in the future. This company is working with a third party. I believe my Sherriff's department cyber crime unit and the Federal Trades Commission over you. Do not have your so called customer service rep continue to called me for this $1599. I have their recorded calls.

Customer Response • Jan 26, 2018

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I don't trust this. I was scammed and hacked by someone telling me to pay Tech Peninsula by a personal check. I was contacted by both the customer service and manager, but let it go to voice mail. I will accept their response and close the file, but if I hear from this company I will reopen case.
