Review: I brought my 1999 Mercury Cougar at [redacted]s Automotive and owner "Mr. [redacted]" talked to me I told him to check the water pump because I think that theres a leak on my radiator. So he asked me to make a deposit of $1000 to begin the job and I specifically told him just repair what I specifically complained on my radiator and the part relativ to it and he accepted the job. He accepted and promised me the following. This will be done in a week [redacted] the owner promised so come you back and pick it up it should be ready by that time then gave me a pink invoice(Customers Copy of Estimate) da March 12, 2015 with invoice No.[redacted] that contained my info. and the amount that I paid in cash of $1,000 that he described a deposit so I signed beside the written amount on the estimate(Pink Invoice) So, I came back after a week (Thursday, March 19, 2015) to check if my car is ready for pick up. [redacted] said he's not done working on it. I asked him when can I get my car back I need it for work too. He asked me to"Come Back after 2 weeks, so I came back after two weeks and again he said its not done yet, a little confused I am, so I asked him again and he said to be easier for me, he will just call me to let me know its ready for pick up.Because I was also busy with work I didn't notice that 5 long months have passed, so I rushed and check on it because I never heard anything from Mr. [redacted]. So I came and checked on my car, "I WAS SURPRISED" I saw my cougar still on the jacks so I asked [redacted] and he showed me the part that he was having a hard time to find because he described it as an "Obsolete Part". Curious I am so I want back home to ask a friends help to search online that parts, a little surprised we saw multiple kinds and found the cheapest worth $30 and brought a copy to [redacted] to help him buy it. He asked us to go back after a week but we came after 2 weeks. This time he said the car is ready "BUT" he showed me multiple that he changed without my knowledge and permission to changed it charging me he said almost $2400.Desired Settlement: Finish the job that I told him to fix and deduct only the parts (water pump) which I estimated around $30 that he never showed a receipt on that parts he purchased also the labor on the $1000 I deposited. Without him asking me to pay more than $2400 that is not reflected on the first invoice that he gave me the first time.
