*** *** Response:Complaint ID : *** ***To Whom It may concern:*** *** *** contacted our office and scheduled an appointment on her free will, and gave the front desk employees her dental insurance information.However, from reviewing the history it appears, ** *** was more than likely aware about her insurance being DHMO and not PPO since our office should not have been the list of office she would be given to contact.As a beneficiary, it is her responsiblity to verify her dental benefits from her employee and we assume, more than likely she would have been knowledgeable of what kind of insurance she signed up for.As a courtesy to our patients, my staff only tried to assist her, as we do for all our patients to make it easier to process their claim That is why she was informed of this and presented the documentation to sign.*** ***, knowingly, went along with the appointment , signed all the papers and had the exam and x-rays.Subsequently, she was sent notification from our office that her insurance claim was rejected and they stated that , she had DHM and not PPO as she has originally stated However, she did not even have any inclination of concern to our services or staff.Instead of addressing the issue, on the contray she defamates our dental prcatice and called the employees who served her, liars and accused our office of fraud.All empolees are there to do their job and not to be labled and or insulted in a manner she has stated.As far as her going to another office and claiming she did not have any problem with her teeth, frankly, I am very glad to hear that We like to see her be healthy.We did spend time to do a through examination with what was clinically visible at the time of service and reviewd them with her and adviced her of good home care and possible future treatment recommendations.At this time, as a resolution, I have chosen to give her the benefit of the doubt and clear her debt to our office.She is clear of her owing us any money.I do hope, eveything will work out well for her and I hope she will not cause similar problem to happen again with another dental office. Unfortunately our office does not participate with DMO/HMO insurance plans.After talking with your insurance it has been confirmed that the past due balance of $595.00 is the patient's responsibility. Attached is the insurance EOB with this information on it.
