Tejas Volleyball Club Reviews (1)

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:1)    Size of team: Look at Tejas website.   I uploaded the 13.1 team roster.  All the Tejas 2016-2017 team rosters have greater than 8 players.   Also you can look at other clubs in the area.  For example, Texas Advantage.  Most club teams have 12 players per team.   An 8 player team cannot compete at club level volleyball.2)    One setter:   I disagree for the reasons I stated earlier.   A setter is involved in every play of every game.   In a 2 day tournament, the setter gets tired.   A team cannot compete in club volleyball with one setter.  3)    Scrimmaging:   I disagree for the reasons I stated earlier.  Club teams must scrimmage in order to compete.  The team has to get use to each other.   The team has to get use to rotation.   This team familiarity has to be done in practice, not under the pressure of tournament play.   Scrimmage helps with quickness.  It is essential to compete in club volleyball.   Last year, the  first, second and third teams always scrimmage, at least 30 minutes, during each practice.   Our team did not scrimmage during practice.   Our team was not prepared for club tournament play. 4)    I watched the team over the course of the season.   I saw the team do progressively worst over the course of the season.  At the beginning of the season, the team was in the gold bracket of the beginning tournament.   The team never made the gold bracket for the rest of the season.  I uploaded the unbias team stats. Tejas charges approximately the same amount (minus additional expenses ~$500 for traveling teams) for the 4th team as it does for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams.  I expect the Tejas club to provide the same level of training and coaching as the other teams. Tejas has to be responsible for the coaches that it hires.   As far as I can tell, Coach [redacted] is not on Tejas coaching staff any more, but that doesn’t erase last year.  See uploaded coach list.   During the season, the head coach interrupted play to chew out coach [redacted].  Apparently she was not attending coaches meetings.  She was not teaching Tejas methods which cause the team to have to learn different methods from different coaches.   Tejas did not follow up afterwards.   Tejas has to be responsible for the coaches that it hires.
Regards,
