Customer Service and their Product on Warranty Claim
Their warranty is not “replaceable” warranty. The company does not stand behind their product and does not want to replace your defective product, rather just wanted to pretend that they are giving you the warranty. I do not feel they want you to take a defective product into their warranty.
I have a 50 feet long, Teknor Apex brand hose that came with a “Lifetime Warranty”. The other day, my only 3 years old hose broke at the female end. Just broke off in normal daily use. I claim the warranty and they got back by saying they will give me a refund for me to be able to replace the defective one. They said the hose in retail is about $29.58 and gave me the credit. I try to purchase the same one both on-line and in-stores. There is no way for me to get a same hose for that amount. I wrote them back and they said that is what I am getting. I further searched for a hose for the amount allotted and I could not. The amount does not come close. I wrote them back with the search findings and told them I do not want the credit, just send me an equivalent hose and I will be happy with that. They did not want to do that.
I found an exactly same hose from Wal-Mart on-line in clearance sale for $62.21. Asking them if I purchase that, would that be good enough to get a full refund credit? They said yes so I bought them on-line. I sent the credit request of $68.43 since the tax amount of $6.22 is added. They sent me an additional credit of $32.26 without saying anything of how the amount was calculated. The total credit I got from them was $61.84. A bit short of product price of $68.43, or even short of without tax of $62.21. They just did not respond to may email. I replied to them demining explanations, 3 times but nothing. This was not a nice gesture coming from the vender.
I try to claim the credit I got from Teknor and it is an on-line credit or 4 other stores that I do not go to shop. I wrote Teknor back of this and they gave the phone number to call which this credit/gift-card vender to provide more options. The credit/gift-card vendor name is TANGO. I called them and they said they would not give me any other options but told be to call and talk with Teknor. I wrote them back but they would not do anything about this. This left a really bad feeling of what I described earlier.

In the above complaint Mr. [redacted] noted that he spoke to our company on 06/04/17 (this was a Sunday and we are closed on the weekends).I called Mr. [redacted] this morning, he claimed he still has not receive the instructions. I sent him the instructions to the same e-mail address above while on the phone with him and he confirmed that he has now received the instructions. He is sending the required information to me via mail and at the same time I am sending him a replacement hose. I did apologize for the inconvenience for the trouble that he went through and he seemed happy by the time the call ended.
